This ignorant response had earned naught but a rolling of eyes. Was this copy of dear Yuki really such an airhead they don’t register such a simple insult?
“Scrap metal or not, you’re an idiot.”
Okay, her programmed nine-year old mind manages to register this insult. She balls her hands into fists, fuming at him.

A frustrated sigh escaped the human, quite frankly tired of this situation.
“If you’re really some weird machine then go back to the scrapyard where you belong rather than lurking about here.”

The leader of Chilledren was no idiot. How could some android look so impossibly human? They were just machines after all, and nothing manmade was seamless.
She hesitates before timidly looking up at him.
“Yes..?” Was that the right answer? She feels that he’s getting angry and when people get angry, they also get meaner and he already is a little mean!!
“Not a game? Fine, then how’s joke sound? You mean those singing robots right? As if!”
With every passing second the older grew more and more irritated. Were it not for discovering this imposter’s story, perhaps he would merely walk away. Honestly, the things he put up with…
“Well-- I mean I’m one of those Vocaloids too so I just thought if she was another unit, then that’d explain why we’re so similar...” Her eyes shift around uneasily as she begins to fiddle with her fingers. This Len seemed alright at first but now he’s getting a little mean....
“I don’t know what game you’re playing, but I’m utterly unamused.”
Vocaloid? Things like that annoying teal haired machine he’d been shown once before? Was Yuki really being compared to that kind of thing?
Flinching at his tone, she shrinks away slightly.
“But I’m not playing any games!” She holds out her hands, waving them. “Look! No boards or game pieces or anything!” Loosely crossing her arms, she stares at him.
“Don’t you know what Vocaloids are? I thought we were getting really popular..! But I guess if you don’t know them, she can’t be a Vocaloid.”

So this girl wasn’t Yuki Illinser after all. At the very least, that meant Yuki was safe with the others… however…

It wasn’t as though those with no blood ties could be so eerily alike, not from what the blonde had seen.
She gives a shrug of the shoulders.
“I don’t know, she’s not a Vocaloid right?” Actually, there’s a very slim chance she could be another unit with that kind of name.
“Kagamine? No… Len Eningar.
“…You’re not Yuki Illinser, are you?”
It seemed impossible, though that girl would never have mistaken the youth for any other, injury or not. This wasn’t the Yuki he’d saved and cared for. Not the Yuki he’d taught and learned from.
Her face seems to fall and she goes still.
“Not Kagamine? I guess I mistook you for someone else too then!” She lets out an embarrassed laugh.
Again, she blinks at him with a puzzled look.
“Yuki Illinser?” she asks before shaking her head. “Nope, I’m Yuki Kaai! See! I guess you mistook me for someone else! I’ve never even heard of a Yuki Illinser.”
Someone else? Surely not. The one of gears could never mistake such a face, nor voice. Then again… Yuki wasn’t one for jokes…
“Y-Yuki? You’ve not hit your head, have you?”
That would be rather tragic… it was difficult to survive as is. With such a serious injury, Yuki would need plenty of time without tasks in order to heal. Oliver certainly did.
She blinks a few more times and touches her head, feeling for a bump.
“Um, no I didn’t I’m pretty sure--!! If I hit my head I think it’d still be hurting....” Her hand slips back to her side, her lips pursing. Squinting a bit at him, she realizes he looks a bit familiar.
“Oh! Are you Len Kagamine? You look so different with that outfit! Why are you wearing it? Are you all dressed up for a performance or something?” Yuki’s face brightens at who she assumes to be a fellow Vocaloid, clasping her hands behind her back and bouncing on her heels slightly.

What was Yuki doing out on the streets? The Chilledren all had specific orders not to wander today, as there was a festival and streets would be crowded. Furthermore, what on Earth was that girl wearing? The frozen hadn’t sewn such a thing, had she created it herself?
“What were you thinking, Yuki?! I told you not to wander today, did I not? The others haven’t left the library too, have they?”
If not, surely they would be worried… though had they, who knows what pedestrians could be doing to them? Children or not, they were merely protected by law, not street rules!
Hearing her name, the little girl stops and turns around, gazing up at the stranger in wonderment.
She flinches, cowering slightly as an automatic reaction to being scolded, but confusion far overpowers her shame.
“Others? Library--? Ah--um!! I’m sorry Mister but I don’t remember you telling me any of this. You know my name though, um...ah--but maybe you’re mistaking me for someone else?”
