So a lot of people are already voicing their distrust in Soulburner, a.k.a. Homura Takeru outside of Link Vrains. It appears that he and Yusaku are going to be getting very close very fast, which fans are rather doubtful about. I, for one, love the evil!Soulburner theory. However I can’t help but look beyond just Soulburner himself.
What if Flame is the one we should all be worried about?
In episode 1 we are immediately shown the six Ignises being driven back by Hanoi, lead by Revolver. Ai swoops in and saves the day before the Ignises and Cyberse world can be destroyed, and in sacrificing himself he seals the Cyberse world away, ensuring the safety of his fellow AIs. Because of this it doesn’t quite make sense why, in episode 48, Flame expresses his dislike of Ai, who should be his savior.
“Look. We found your friend.”
“Friend? That’s unthinkable. Don’t associate me with that airhead.”

We know now after episode 47 that the Cyberse world is in ruins, meaning someone must have found it despite Ai being the only one who knew of its location. It is already suspected not only by fans but also canon characters that Haru and Bowman were responsible for the destruction of the Cyberse. This is where the theory gets a little out there, because now we have a theory inside of a theory.
My attention has been drawn to their eyes. Both Haru and Bowman’s avatars have golden irises and red pupils, which is cool and could be coincidental, but Soulburner has the same eyes. If you count the similarities in their outfits (and the repetitive diamond and star-like shapes incorporated on their avatars) it seems like there could be a connection between the three of them.
Not to mention Bit and Boot seemed to recognize Soulburner when he appeared despite there having been no mention of him beforehand.
So yes, it does seem like Soulburner has a lot to hide. But you have to keep in mind that where Soulburner goes, so does Flame. I think Flame left the Cyberse world for some as of yet unknown reason, found some useful allies, and then brought them back to his home so that they could wreak havoc. After all, no ordinary human would be able to find the Cyberse, right? That’s why Hanoi needed an Ignis in the first place; more specifically, Ai.
But an escaped Ignis? That could work just as well.
