Iâm preparing for my Comptia Linux+ Certification. Iâm learning Linux now a days. So, I decided to share what I have learned time by time and also receive some valuable inputs from you all. Do you love Linux? Iâm literally becoming a fan of Linux. For the coming few days, I will be posting about Linux. After that, hopefully from coming month, I will start from C++, then Python, then Java and so on. . . Day 1: Linux: . . đ·History of Linux is obsessed by a viewpoint of openness and transparency. đ· Linux is an open source software. Open source refers computer codes that any user is legalised to view and amend for any reason and they can distribute it as well. đ· Linux is a family of operating system which uses Linux kernel. Kernel means the core the OS that manages all components in the system. đ· Linux kernel was developed by Linus Torvalds in 1991. He is an alumnus of University of Helsinki. . . Few advantages of Linux: â„ Its FOSS (Free and Open Source) and transparent. â„ Its design is simple and modular. â„ It is stable and reliable. â„ It ensures security and privacy. â„ Most of its distributions are free of cost. â„ It has strong integration with several major programming languages, like C, C++, Python, Ruby, etc. . . There are distinct members of the Linux family called Linux distributions, or distros which differ primarily in what additional software they add on top of the kernel to create a fully functional OS, as well as the version of the kernel they run. Example of few Linux distro are: Ubuntu, CentOs, Kali Linux, Fedora etc. Currently, Iâm using Kali Linux and Liberty OS.
