“I’m starting to think that most people would, I mean who doesn’t love burgers, no matter how you have them, or what you want to put on them, everyone loves a burger right?” Adeline laughed, clapping her hands together with glee. “Oh maybe we could just make a food album, like ice cream, pizza, cereal…I could do a whole set list.” 

“You keep going with these impressions and you’re well on your way to finding out don’t you worry.” Rebecca hummed as she looked up at him, the truth was she knew nothing about this stranger, she knew his name, and she knew his was kind and at the moment she was enjoying just that. “Well good, that makes me feel slightly more special, and girls are lying when we say feeling special isn’t important to us.” She wouldn’t exactly call herself a diva, but she wasn’t free of faults and even she liked attention. “I was going to get a burger and fries, but I can eat just about anything if there was something you fancied from any of the stalls.” 

“How is anyone supposed to keep their cool with you around?” Finley grumbled as he looked down at his girlfriend, he wasn’t even sure she knew how hot she really was, or what she did to him without actually meaning too at times. “It does both ways, so you can’t have anything bad to say about it, but when I come back from college, you’re not gunna recognize me for a second.” He gave a small chuckle and shook his head. “You’re the cutest girl I ever met you know that right?” 

“Man, I really need to get a second job if I wanna go on that trip before I’m sixty.” Her laugh was soft as she ran her hands through her hair. This dream seemed more and more impossible as time went on. Maybe she’ll catch a break someday. “Being a librarian doesn’t pay that well. Maybe there’ll be an opening at a high school nearby. Not that I’d make much money but it would be more than I get now.”

“They’re really making fans out of this whole crowd, I’d say. There’s a lot of concerts and shows around here right through the whole year but this festival is a pretty big deal.” Brady listened to the woman next to him, nodding. “Oh wow, Chicago must have had some pretty spectacular concerts too then.

“I’m not going to lie, there are many words I could use to describe you, and cute is just one of them but we’re still new on those impressions, so I’ll keep the others two myself for now.” He was gorgeous and there was no denying it, she was pretty sure he’d broken more hearts with that smile than she had eaten warm meals. “And how many damsels have you rescued from the crowd today?” Rebecca asked, a brow raised in his direction. “Or an I the first?” Looking down at their hands that were still joint Rebecca paused for a moment. “Have you eaten yet? You’ve been so good at helping me get to the food, the least I can do is share it with you.” 

“Well as cute as you not wanting to upset your Auntie was, I think the second time is winning…since you’re taking me to food and all.” If there was one thing that motivated Rebecca more than her dancing, it was what was going into her stomach and she wasn’t afraid to admit it. “Besides, it’s not like I let just anyone hold my hand, so you should be honored.” She laughed with him softly as she was maneuvered with ease through the crowds. “How do you do that?” She was genuinely envious that he was able to just, move people without even having to be rude in such a big crowd. “No one normally moves for me. Honestly I wish I was as tall as you my brave hero. How will I ever repay you?” 

“So what do you think?” Becca asked as she flicked the blonde wig over her shoulder. “I have to wear it for a performance next month, and honestly it was so fun I decided to test it for the day.”  She was sure she wasn’t the only person that got the urge to dye her hair randomly. “You think I could get away with it permanently?” 

“Very funny, you know full well who I am, I’m not thirty yet.” He scoffed at his sister, he didn’t mention that he was pretty damn close to that age, he just refused to accept that yet. “What do you mean? I made it look better. You really let your style slip whilst I’ve been gone.” Harry missed her the most when he was away, he thought that he would have been used to it by now with how often they were apart, but it still hurt. “Oh no, I’ll find him, I have people that will be able to find him.”  

Zoe noticed her trying not to laugh, a scowl coming over her face a bit like the kind a small child would have when they thought a parent was stopping them from doing something they wanted. She didn’t take kindly to being laughed at but she also wasn’t about to be confrontational because that wasn’t really her style unless she was in one of her rages. Instead she just put her hand up to her face again, smearing more charcoal across it but this time deliberately. “It’s not just black shit, it’s charcoal I’ve been used to draw, but I decided I would get more artistic joy out of using myself as a human canvas. Cheaper too. Do you want to be a test subject?” She asked with a dead look at the woman.

“Okay but here is the thing, I’m working on new music right? And I was having a moment of inspiration the other night but I needed fuel…and for that I needed burgers.” She knew that she was rambling at this point, but she needed context. “Needless to say, I’m half way through a song about cheese burgers, that will totally sell right?” 

“I can’t see that happening, you could eat my last twinkie and I’d still love you this much.” He was pretty sure that he’d happily share his fries with her for the rest of his life, even if she insisted every time that she really wasn’t hungry this time. “Well maybe we can just figure it out together, one day at a time, one fight at a time, one house move, one …well I imagine we have a whole lot of things to get through to us. We can just learn together.” He wasn’t so sure that he was going to be a perfect husband, but he would work on it, for her he would do anything. “You did? Babe that’s embarrassing.” 

“ Okay, how handsome is he?  He makes all the rude customers I had to deal with today all worth it, just knowing I can go see him later gives me the strength I need to push through it! Anyway, I am done for the day, you do you feel like a coffee?”

“I know we do, I only wanted a beer for the heat really but fine, I guess a cold soda will do just as well.” He’d been in a bad mood the past few days because he knew that sooner rather than later they were going to have to face the fact he would be heading to college whilst meant the months they had spent together were coming to a close and things would be different. “I’ll grow you the best damn beard and then we will see how much you can resist me.” Nudging his nose on hers the male sighed softly. “He’s not even going to believe you’re mine.” 

“You know, this now takes us onto second impressions, and I must say you’re not doing too bad.” Rebecca chuckled, her attention caught by the sudden appearance of his fingers on her own, she was weird with intimate gestures and she would be the first to admit that, but it wasn’t like he was being romantic here so she shrugged it off. “Of course, I could be swallowed whole without any assistance. Lead the way good sir.” She smiled softly. 

“i’m sure this has been said before,” started the man, “but the candy at isaac’s is the best i’ve ever had in my life, no where else could compare.” that he was certain of, as he chewed a bit of caramel he’d bought earlier in the day. “want one? it’s caramel.”
