a webcomic or something I guess

So glad you asked! Rewritten in the Stars is my big huge gigantic fantasy project. It used to be a webcomic, but due to my wrists being prone to hating me, and me realizing that my own artistic inclinations are far more suited to prose, I have decided to retool the story as a novel/probably a series of novels instead (as well as spend some time fixing the worldbuilding and revising the plot). I do plan on including illustrations in the novels, but they will be fewer and farther between than the drawings in the comic.

For the time being (until I decide to change any of this), Rewritten in the Stars includes thinly-veiled religious commentary, themes of isolation, impermanence, subjectivity, justice, and companionship, as well as a cast of traumatized, emotionally confused teenagers who maybe shouldn't have been left unsupervised, and happen to have all involved themselves in a major political scandal, either directly or implicitly. Basically I have a lot to say about a lot of things and I want to let my narrative speak for itself, even if I'm afraid I'll be misinterpreted, but also it's generally good practice to give people SOME idea of what they're getting into and therefore if they might enjoy it or not.

After thinking it over for a long time, I have decided to discontinue the comic. I have not given up on the story (I am in a committed, monogamous relationship with this story), but after not really being able to draw reliably for the past half of a year, I have realized that a) webcomics are not the right medium for me, b) my wimpy wrists cannot withstand thus much drawing in any case, and c) I would like to improve on my worldbuilding and plot after reading some more books in the fantasy genre. I plan on continuing the story primarily through prose, with illustrations sprinkled throughout instead, because that is a better medium for me both in terms of my body's capabilities, and the way I think (I am a very verbal person).

Little portrait (it is not technically a portrait but whatever) I drew the other week because one of the anti-inflammatories I was taking worked so well that it (falsely) made me think I was finally on the mend.

The character featured is called Yrena Ikavil and she is technically engaged to one of my other OCs, but they have never met each other, and when they do, their relationship will be extremely awkward because she has not expressed an opinion since she was eight years old and her fiance is the most socially challenged guy in a hundred mile radius. And also they don't really have any romantic feelings for each other, but they're aristocrats, so that's irrelevant. I wanted to try drawing her with makeup on because I usually don't draw makeup, and this is a fancier outfit within the context of my fantasy world, so she would probably be wearing some kind of makeup with it, too.

Yeah he's a little bad at this but he's trying his best lol. The only emotion he can consistently recognize is fear, so everything else is like... "Are they mad at me? Are they mad at me? They must be mad at me" because he is very used to people being mad or frustrated with him and everyone's emotions feel slightly different to him so like ANYTHING could feel like anger if the person's brain is weird enough.

Alexithymia + empathy is perhaps a bit of a tragic combination but very fun to write. Love 2 torture my little fella who has done like nothing wrong ever because he has not had the chance to (and also because he is a good little lad whose entire life goal is to Not Hurt Anyone Ever).
