If you have an idea and it actually gives you the motivation to draw and create - especially if you've been struggling - it doesn't matter how "silly" you or maybe others you're concerned about think that it is. Maybe it's a deeper topic that you're worried about how you'll handle it. If you have the energy to create, then create. If it brings you joy to create that piece then do it!

I have barely drawn since starting my second job, since beginning the book; I create pieces for my parents for major holidays, but I don't create for myself. I don't create for fun, for a some time at least.

You know what motivated me to create these last two days and finish a piece? Redesigning princess Luna from My Little Pony. Do I question why the urge to redesign her hits every year to two years and why it pushes me to actually draw? No. I take that motivation for what it is and I create. Even if people think it's a silly topic for me to be drawing (a sentiment I have heard, and I have ignored, and I will continue to ignore).

Anyways, if you have the spark to create, even if you're maybe embarrassed by the topic for any reason, do it anyways. Who knows how in love with the piece you'll be after it's in the world.

I’ve been playing the Spyro Reignited Trilogy for the first time, having never played the originals, and I’m having a blast, and Spyro is adorable, I love him. The walking animation has to be my favorite, it’s like he’s prancing around everywhere.

The only Spyro game I played growing up was Enter the Dragonfly (yes, the notoriously horrible one that I still deeply loved because I got to be a dragon in a video game), but now playing the originals (in remake form) is just filling me with nostalgia for this little guy.

Panama’s golden frogs beat extinction

The amphibians are returning to the wild 17 years after a deadly fungus nearly wiped them out.

It’s been 17 years since the bright yellow Panamanian golden frog (Atelopus zeteki) hopped through its native habitat. But after nearly two decades of hard work, conservationists are finally reintroducing a new generation of the tiny fluorescent amphibians back into the tropical island’s ecosystem. It wasn’t that long ago that golden frogs were staring down almost certain extinction. The saga began in the late 1980s, when an invasive fungus called Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) arrived in lower Central America. Soon, Bd spores spread throughout Panama. The fungal spores had no difficulty traveling through water—and because golden frogs only live close to streams, they soon encountered the fungus themselves...

You may need to learn how to set up your paints and such… but this is what people did, live, while the show aired. That’s what the show was for. I had family members create lovely works of art they enjoyed, which I still have on my walls, because William Alexander and Bob Ross both said:

SCREW METICULOUS CLASSICAL ART PRACTICES — JUST GRAB A PALETTE KNIFE AND BIG OLD BRUSH AND PAINT!

They freed a whole generation of people who were taught to paint detail and realism and exact representation of reality — people who largely gave up this kind of thing because it got tedious.

I watched the joy of family members as they rediscovered art as a messy fun spontaneous half hour activity.
