These toasts are examples of chiasmus, a rhetorical device named after the Greek letter chi, which looks like X, because the repeated parts cross over each other like an X.
The best chiasmus I’ve seen in response has been from Leah Velleman on twitter: “Cran-morphemes for my productive friends and productive morphemes for my cran-friends.” (The joke being that cran morphemes aren’t productive.)

I like the expression new-fangled. I don't know what it means for something to be fangled, but I sure as hell know it was recent
It’s from the Old English word feng, which can mean “to take”, or also “to grasp, hold, or embrace”. So something that’s newfangled is something that was taken up recently.
The reason it’s using this pretty archaic root is that it’s an older word than a lot of people think. Here it is in the Canterbury Tales.

This is why I love studying English while already knowing a germanic and a romance language. I can always be like: "Ah! That Old English word is kinda like this word that I already know in my native language"

It's still kinda wild how Phineas and Ferb managed to completely hijack an idiom. Now whenever someone hears a sentence leading with "If I had a nickel for everytime [...]", odds are their brain auto fills with "I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice," rather than "I'd be rich," or "I could [action that requires purchasing something requiring an obscene amount of money]". Y'know, what the idiom originally was
the thing is, the phineas and ferb version is just so much funnier and more actually applicable
original idiom is "anything that happens a lot"
p&f version is "weirdly specific thing that happens more times than would really make sense"
