One of the things about Cursed Child that pisses me off the most is the fact Hermione was the Minister for Magic.

Why, oh why would Hermione ever even want to be the Minister? Yes, she was a genius, yes she’d be a good Minister, but I don’t think she’d ever actually want to be.

Honestly, there were so many other careers she would have been much better suited for. Author, professor, literally anything not associated with the Ministry.

But you know who would’ve been a great Minister?

Percy Weasley

Because it was his lifelong ambition, because as soon as he graduated he managed to get a Ministry job, because he was Fudge’s right hand man at age 17.

Hermione never even spoke about wanting to get a job anywhere near the Ministry, why would she suddenly become Minister, genius or not? Personally, I actually think an ideal job for her would be to expand S.P.E.W, or another similair orginization founded by her.
