After that, it’s almost like once Jason starts thinking about it, he can’t stop. Every time he’s around Tim he notices little things he wasn’t aware of before. Or, maybe he was aware of them, he just wasn’t affected by them.

There was a moment, Tim saw it; a second of calm, of assessment, of calculation. It only existed in the span of a blink, lost to a wry smirk of acceptance. But it burned like a brand there, in the forefront of Tim’s mind – Jason, catching blood with his fingers, eyes like fire as he dissected the man in front of him.

Tim knew that Jason would win; he recognized a god when he saw one.

“If you came looking for a fight,” Jason said, temper burning, blood on his lips. “Congratulations. You’ve found yourself a war.”

Who wants to bet that Tim punched him.
