The only interpersonal characterization he's gotten thus far is that he's an insulting, controlling, jealous douche.

Every time Cates writes about Garbage (I will not call him Carnage, not now not ever, I mean, it’s not even him ahah) I have the impression he really just likes to put random quotes from old comics together (Mind Bomb - It’s A Wonderful Life, for example), trying to create the most efficient (in his mind probably) and edgiest thing he can, without considering at all the value and meaning of those words he likes to slap in his Garbage’s lines. And from this, you can see how bad he is. The way he uses those quotes suggests a lack of understanding of those old comics he claims to love. It’s really painful, guys XD Picking random old character’s quotes doesn’t make you a good writer of that character…it’s a lazy and clumsy stunt that leads inevitably in some aberrations like:

“I’M SEX AND VIOLENCE”

which is a total misunderstanding of the “It’s A Wonderful Life” line: “VIOLENCE IS SEX”

(and if you didn’t read “It’s a Wonderful Life” I strongly recommend it <3 )

And I don’t know…this is just one line from this issue but I found it so funny and at the same time really frustrating ahahah
