Lovely REBeLS, my friend in Glasgow, WMcL taught me the phrase “wobbly.”  I like it better than its American equivalent of “emotional.” Emotional to me means

I’d like to write that his performance was perfect. That he didn’t play a single false note. That he knew many pieces flawlessly. Honestly, I think he only knew 2 of the seven pieces completely. He schooled us on techniques and difficulties. Most fascinating for me, he remembered not by doing but by hearing. He listened to the notes in his head and searched for them on the cello.

PS, for some thirty plus birthday of mine, found me in our West Seattle home sobbing and our walls torn to the studs. She bore flowers from the gal pal gang, and, upon realizing that I was more of a mess than assumed, told me she would get my hair all fixed too.

How have my last few weeks been? Let’s just say I am abstaining from responsibility and writing in my journal and snuggling my loved ones. Otherwise, I won’t respond unless there is major emotional or physical injury. It’s me, not you. For realz.

I cannot muzzle my children to keep them from biting others at the park. I cannot kennel them whilst I go off for a lunch with the ladies.  At the end of a long day, I do not want my children curled at my feet by the fire.
