This is Gaza, where not a single house remains standing. We are without shelter, without food, without water. We are dying. We are being bombed every day. We are being shot at in the middle of Gaza City. Where is the ceasefire agreement? Where is the humanity? They are shooting at and targeting people who go to get some firewood for their families to cook. We are truly oppressed.

Wanting you to ignore the politics of Star Wars comes from the same exact place that wants you to substitute the germ theory of disease with the 'sickness comes from failure to be a good christian and most people who claim to be sick are just faking anyway' myth.

They don't want these complexities to exist, and by talking about them, you make them exist. It's a form of magical thought. Talking about police brutality wills police brutality into existence. A disruption of the status quo is seen as a disruption of the natural order. The problem they see is that no-one has made those people shut up. That is what they want: someone to come in and make those people shut up and go away, to put things back "where they belong." [...] Their will is a hammer that they are using to beat reality itself into a shape of their choosing, a simple world where reality is exactly what it looks like through their eyes, devoid of complexity, devoid of change, where they are right and their enemies are silent. They are trying to build a flat earth.

This is still a victory though, and yet another reminder that BDS works. Keep fighting, keep boycotting!

October 7 was a largely successful military incursion against majoritarily military targets. The only failing on the Palestinian resistance came from them not realizing how willing the occupation was to massacre its own soldiers and 'civilians' (non-combattants) alike to keep them out of reach. And I don't blame them for making the mistake of humanizing the enemy in their perspective, more than they deserved.

and i think we can spend less time debating its effectiveness an instead learn how it was possible. in my community, in the west, everyones scared to escalate for Gaza and worried about surveillance, but October 7th happened when drones were flying over Gaza 24/7, when the siege categorized Gaza as unliveable, and water undrinkable even before october 7th and yet Palestinians in Gaza broke through a highly militarized checkpoint, probably one of the most watched borders in the world, and reached as far as the West Bank. If the people of Gaza were able to do it while under the most oppressive and surveilled conditions of life in the world, then it is possible to revolt against the military machine here as well
