I think the porn addiction isnt literal, but rather a reference to Nathan's work. Like he's so caught up in his work it's basically an addiction. And if you include the lactation thing and I guess even jacking off into that idea, it fits pretty well. While I also wouldn't be surprised if it came out that Nathan is addicted to porn, I genuinely don't think that part is supposed to be taken so literally.

I'm interested in hearing people's theories in the six fingers thing since the Hemingway cats kept getting brought up throughout the film as well, so there's definitely some symbolism tied to that.... And thus possibly to Nathan?

° Interesante... I'm all for symbolism and love layered metaphors but in my opinion, this isn't that. I think that something as specific and overt as porn addiction (and porn addiction with a specific fetish) is meant to be seen as just that. I felt like the layers of nuance in Doctor Deathgrip were more attributed to Amber and her emotional storytelling and unsaid lines. The bits and pieces where we as the audience just sort of knew exactly what she was thinking, while having no idea what his reasoning was.

That said, I would like to know where the six fingers thing came from and whether the hemmingway cats were more than just a thing she used to try to connect with him, but as for the porn addiction, I'd believe its exactly what it's presented as.

Men we like are still men, and at this point in history, I'd absolutely believe any man to be a porn addict. The way the internet, marketing, advertising and masculinity are in modern society, it's almost unavoidable that this condition is seeing an uptick and especially in the middle aged and older demographic that aren't as fine-tuned as younger people are to internet nonsense. °

Everyone online was posting "New Nathan Fetish Alert" etc to the breastfeed scene. Was priceless and comedy gold.

Not to sound like an ass, I mean this in honest confusion and humor (it did make me laugh) but how could anyone have missed THAT episode and that scene of all scenes and say they saw everything he did? lol. The episode even got nominated for Emmy's. And the most wildest thing he has ever done outside of the actual flying the plane. LOL

1. I don't know when the psychoanalysis started, I feel like its more of a group psychosis we're all dealing with that just *happens* to center around him lmao. For me, my obsession w/ him was reignited after season 2 of the rehearsal, I've always thought he was so cool and funny and attractive and interesting. 😅 I think the reason (and y'all feel free to correct me bc ik I don't speak for everyone) we're all so obsessed at this current moment is bc there's a notable lack of Nathan in the zeitgeist since the release of season 2 of the rehearsal, and we all want season 3 so badly bc season 2 was maybe the best season of a television show ever??? So we're looking into any/every little Nathan related crumb that could possibly be connected to season 3 or any aspect of his personal life bc we miss him and want to know what he could possibly be doing next.
