Canadian Journalist, Markham Hislop is appealing to White House leakers. He said he’ll be happy to publish anything on Donald Trump he receives on his news site.

His first comment refers to this:

For the second time in four days, Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil was forced off message Thursday to defend himself from attacks on gender-related issues.

At a campaign stop in Halifax, McNeil said Liberal communications director Kyley Harris deserved “a second chance” after being handed a conditional discharge for striking a woman in the face during a domestic argument on May 9, 2014.

Harris was a spokesman for McNeil at the time, but was fired after waiting four days to tell the government he was facing an assault charge.

Harris was hired back in 2015 to do research in the Liberal caucus office and is now listed as director of communications for the central campaign in the runup to the May 30 provincial vote.

The matter resurfaced after federal Conservative Leader Rona Ambrose posted on social media Wednesday saying Harris’s re-hiring sends a “terrible message,” and that Liberal leaders “need to walk the talk on violence against women.”

Saw this today. Don’t remember the exact wording, but the gist was this:

‘Don’t let her use you for deep and satisfying conversation while she’s fucking some guy who barely texts her. Know your worth.’

The following commentary is what I’d call cis-heteronormative, and even a bit lazy. I’m just frustrated and have to get this out.

If the conversation is satisfying, why are you worried about who she’s fucking? Are you a reductive asshole who thinks conversation is just the key to her pants? Is that the ultimate endgame for every relationship with a woman who isn’t your mother or sister? Are you also similarly usurious of your relationships with men, using friendship as means to selfish end?

Once again for the guys up in the nosebleed seats who maybe still haven’t heard:

“Friend-zone” is bullshit. If “knowing your worth” hinges on whether or not she thinks you’re more fuckable than some other dude, you probably don’t know your worth, and definitely don’t know hers.

In case it got past you, you are allowed to have deep, satisfying conversations with friends while dating other people. She can do that. So can you.

And for anybody on the other side of this (i.e. facing direct criticism from somebody you thought was a friend but who’s mad that they’ve been so nice to you and you give it up to some asshole because that’s your goddamn decision to make):

You probably already know this, but there’s nothing wrong with you or your decision. The problem lies *entirely* with your “friend’s” insecurity and extremely limiting priorities. That person is not ready to be your friend.

It’s entirely up to you to decide whether you have the patience to wait for them to get their shit aligned and catch up with you.

The pastor also started the sermon by noting that she’d heard of another minister who read the entirety of the Sermon on the Mount at the pulpit, to be told by the so-called Christian parishioners after the service that it was offensive and they didn’t agree.

Not in terms of the realness or unrealness of who they worship, but in terms of how they’ve warped their focus away from the reality and turned it towards a fantasy of their own construction.

By definition, an idol is an image with no god behind it.

What they have done is taken the idea of Jesus and created a false image of him, nothing like the reality, to carry around in their back pocket, or to wave around on signs, and pull out and shove in people’s faces to justify all manner of unChristlike behavior.

It is a “worship” that is fundamentally self-centered rather than deity-centered, wherein the deity in question is more of a pocketbook get-out-of-jail-free card than directive to live by, and more of a status symbol than a guiding light.

That people will, without a shred of self-awareness, rest themselves assured that Jesus would want them to tip their waitress with a Jesus pamphlet made to look like folded-up money (to take only one example out of many) is the ultimate dismissal of everything the original stood for.

I do not know how to do these things. I have a masters degree and I have no fucking clue how to operate a deep fryer or make coffee drinks. I’d probably not be very good at it, because that kind of hands-on, fast-paced work is very hard for me.

Like in addition to it being physically demanding (standing up for 4-6 hours straight, carrying heavy ice/coffee, constantly getting burned by boiling water and an oven, a lot of reaching and squatting (like a lot a lot I lost 40 FUCKING pounds in a year okay this job demands a lot from the body)), there are actual skills required. Also your skin splits from using so much antibacterial soap.

Do you know what temperature different foods have to be to prevent contamination? If it’s a “cold” or “hot” plate?? Do You know how long food can be out before bacterial contamination can happen?? Do you know the difference between say 1% and heavy whipping cream? Can you teach a chemistry class using milk????? That’s p much what you gotta learn to be able to do. My friend who works as a medic was surprised, because I do more in my day than they do, and THEY told me that. They were shocked how much I actually do; I am on my feet more, talking to more people, I have a working knowledge of food germs food born illnesses and chemistry, I gotta do the same shit with sterilizing my tools the same exact way a doctor sterilizes theirs. Etc etc.
