I just thought I'd make an account to share my writing!

Hi, I'm Angel!! I've had a book planned in my head for months, I think I'm ready to start writing it. I made this account to share the process.

My book "Pieces of me, held by you" is centered around a religious Appalachian town. The main character is Ortho Johnson, a boy who has deep religious beliefs (or, at least that's what he wants people to believe.) His mother, Jules, is a famous TV show host. His father, Bo, is a carpenter. His brother.. isn't around much anymore.

Ivan Hanover is the perfect preacher. He's humble, quiet, and speaks only the word of God. Everyone in town would tell you, he's practically an angel. They don't know the extent of it.

Why was this so damn difficult? Stephanie had been sitting there in a dumbfounded silence for at least a solid two minutes now and she was still drawing a blank of something that would count as a merit.

She couldn't call herself honest, her situation demanded the not so occasional confabulation. Her space was mostly organized, but out of fear of punishment from Celeste, not out of any personal aptitude for organization. She wasn't exactly hard-working or responsible, since she didn't have any actual work to do or any responsibilities that mattered.

This was a tough one.

" I-I'm um... " she tapped her fingers together, still trying to come up with something. That's when her gaze fixated on the two blue fingers on her left hand. " Adaptable? "

She thought about it for a moment, and it wasn't entirely a lie. The fact she's magically altered and alive is proof that her body was able to adapt. And it went beyond physical changes too, she's adapted to a life on the run, a life in poverty, and she managed to somewhat adapt to her minimal life in a new world too.

" Y-yeah! Adaptable! I-I can pretty much get used to anything, haha... Kinda like a cockroach? Th-That's a merit, right? It's c-come in handy in the p-past and it will p-probably come in h-hand again. "

When it came to flaws, she faced the opposite problem. Too awkward, too weird, too talkative, too ugly, too much to deal with, forgetful, distractable, careless, useless- If she started listing them out as they came to her head, they'd be there for weeks.

Or probably not. Sooner or later, Zinnya would probably interrupt her, give her a sincere compliment and make her completely unusable for at least the next half an hour. That was something Stephanie didn't have the mental strength to deal with at this very instant.

Hmmm... How to get out of this? To avoid complete system shutdown, the universal picked something she couldn't really be argued on. Something she's been told by Icy too many times.

" I... I guess, despite everything, I'm still pretty naive. " Steph fiddled around with her hair nervously. " I know I should question more a-and be more guarded, b-but... ", she froze mid sentence, pink strands of hair slowly slipping out from between her fingers.. An uncomfortable feeling gripped her throat. It was odd, she was certain this would be okay to talk about. But then all of a sudden, she felt like going into detail would be too vulnerable to bear now. Almost like continuing would somehow cause her harm? This line of thought and where it lead felt like a threat.

I’ve even changed plot points because of a comment, haha. I remember one girl saying Aragorn should hit Legolas, so in the next chapter I had him grab him by the tunic (though he’d never actually strike him just for the sake of it, because he’s a gentleman 👼🏻).

No AO3 author would ever say they don't jump for joy when receiving a message from a reader.

No one could ever tell me.

Sometimes I think there is nothing. Then I think there has to be something, because I would want to come back and tell you about it.

If I become a butterfly,

I will stay on your bow.

Not on a flower. On your bow.

So that when you draw the string, I will brush your fingers and you will have to remember me.

If I become water,

look for me in the rivers. In the ones that are not too cold.

And if I become none of those things,

if this is all there is,

keep at least this:

I loved you before I knew what word to use.

Afterwards I knew the word.

And I loved you all the same.

I do not repent of the years I waited.

They were mine.

They were for you.
