In case it's not common, reading is a part of your job as a writer.

Iāll Give You the Sun: Review
āWe were all heading for each other on a collision course, no matter what. Maybe some people are just meant to be in the same storyā
Iāll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson is SUCH a good fiction book. It perfectly combinesĀ all elements of romance, representation, growing up, tragedy, and family.
Iāll Give You the Sun follows twins, Noah and Jude, from age 13 to age 16. The earlier years of their lives are told by Noah and the later years are told by his sister, Jude. In the earlier years, Noah and Jude are so close that they are typically referred to asĀ āNoahandJudeā and are practically inseparable. However, in the later years, they arenāt as close. In fact, theyāve almost all out stopped talking to each other and ignore the other's presence. How much can happen in 3 years that causes 2 best friends to act like the other doesnāt exist?
Going back and forth through the years reveals so much and causes so many different plot twists. Iāll Give You the Sun is another good book that includes the LGBTQ+ community in a way that doesnāt seem weird and forced. There are so many themes in this book and, normally, it would seem confusing and clutter the book but it works out pretty well. The romance is sort of a sub-theme while the major theme is family and how everything can fall apart.
Iāll Give You the Sun was recommended to me by a couple friends who said it was their favorite book and, after reading it, while itās not my favorite book, it definitely makes it onto the list.
This is such an amazing book and I would recommend it to anyone.
