So ofc the song is a banger and some of the lyrics are driving me insane. We went from oh my clematis to oh my sweet scar... (a flower representing love compared to a old wound that is still beloved) and repeating lines like you are my god / my universe... And how the song talks about how Mizi and Sua can always rely on each other but it's ironic because that!! wasn't!! true!!! during Mizi's solo career as an idol!

But they look closer and happier as zombies than they were as humans (compared to the last time they saw each other) which is a haunting thought. They're still being exploited but they can be together this way, unlike as humans, so they're happier... or they seem to be

It's hard to tell how much awareness they have as zombies which is scary. They seem happy throughout the performance and Sua doesn't even tense when they're about to chop her arm off, but is it because the zombie infection fried their brain past the point of awareness, or is it because they're just happy they can finally perform together as a couple and know they'll never be separated by death?

Oh wow I just realized. In Alien Stage they were constantly threatened with the fear of losing their loved ones. But here, if they're all zombies, they can't truly die, so what is there to fear? Is this gonna be a theme?? In a weird way, will this actually be a happier version of Alien Stage???? 😭

I think that the zombie performers losing their body parts with each failed performance is a metaphor for the commodification of idols-- turning complex people into simple objects/ideas to be sold to the masses as a product. It could also represent how as they get deeper into their idol careers, they lose their identity more and more

And specifically I think that Mizi losing her eyes represents how she lost sight of her values during her solo career. She wanted to be an idol so she could perform with Sua, but instead she did it alone and even allowed herself to be sexualized by men (or really by anyone who wasn't the one she truly loved). ughhhh that scene where she's getting knives thrown at her being overlapped with moments of her sexualization.... god Mizi you were objectified in every universe and I hate that for you

When it comes to their awareness it seems like Sua is moreso aware than Mizi. Since her face got replaced with a heart (almost like whoever was in control of Zombie Stage said "yeah we don't care about letting you express yourself anymore but we'll give you a cute lil heart so you can look even more adorable to the audience and be even easier to sell!!!") and Sua is the one who has to lean over to kiss her. Mizi's motions seem mostly static outside of what's necessary for the performance, not until the very end where they chop Sua's arm and her smile drops at the very end

So remember how the guards in Alien Stage looked like robots but were secretly humans the whole time? What if it's the same concept with the guards (stage attendants? idk) we see in Zombie Stage? They look like butchers from the neck down but they wear the head of lambs which is an interesting contrast of power. I wonder if it's possible that they may be zombies too??

Not analysis but WHAT IS HYUNA'S CONNECTION TO ZOMBIE STAGE. I'm so excited to see how the other characters will fit into this universe but especially her and my problematic fav Luka <3
