You were one of the many performers at Medda Larkin’s theatre. 18 years old is what you told people. 17 years old was the truth. While it was only a year difference it 110% made you more money. That included acting, and because of jack, sometimes selling a paper or two for him by persuading an older guy who already thought you were beautiful. There was…one thing you had never told jack though. When you were 10 your mom had sat you down and told you a reason that you had never met your dad…this guy named Snyder who seemed really mean. It Olay took a few years of knowing jack to know who the man you had to call your father was. The worst man to cross in the area. A man who would lock up kids in horrid conditions for money from the government. They didn’t even truly know what he was doing but you knew it was bad and that made you mad enough. So back when jack and the other newsies staged a strike with the help of your friend Davey and this kind writer Kathrine, who had a similar secret to yours with her dad meting joe Pulitzer the very man you were rallying against you wanted to tell your piece but couldn’t out of fear. After all you and jack had had this will they wont they thing going on for weeks and if he was going to fall in love with you you wanted to show your worth before he found out about your dads job and who he was.

You had just performed the most tiring show ever. You’d had to sing and dance like crazy the entire time and didn’t get not one break. You were gross and sweaty up close but beautiful from afar. You smelled like salt and sweat, but also strawberries and chocolate like the perfume that’s youd sprayed on yourself before you went on stage. “My dear you look so tired!” Your mother said as she walked over and hugged you from behind. “ thanks mom, you did pretty good too with your opener you always do amazing tho!” You responded. He had missed your last show because of the strike efforts but now that they had won he was probably gonna be at all of them again. You looked at yourself in the mirror and started fixing your hair and makeup. “I’ll leave you to it! I have things to do anyway.” As ms.
