Because to Clark, Krypton is a concept. It’s an idea. It’s like how we grow up with myths like Atlantis—we have never and (most likely, in our case, but I’d like to hold out hope lol) will never experience it in real life.

And Clark was never really Kal-El; he was always just. Clark Kent. The human boy from Krypton.

And then you have Kara.

Kara Zor-El, who grew up speaking Kryptonese.

Kara Zor-El, who grew up celebrating their holidays.

Kara Zor-El, who grew up eating their food.

Kara Zor-El, who, on the day that she left Krypton, had school the next day.

Kara is the last person alive who remembers a dead planet and actually lived on it.

Whereas to Clark, Krypton was a story, an ideal, a concept, to Kara, it was her entire world.

And she’s just. She’s such a heartbreaking character.

Because, think about it; she was fifteen years old. The ground was shaking. Buildings were collapsing. People were screaming, people were crying, people were scared, people were confused, and people were dying—her people, her friends.

And her parents told her to get into a pod. Told her that she needed to protect Kal-El. Their last request to her was to make sure that he was safe.

And they sent her away.

And she wonders why? Why her? Why, out of everyone, was she chosen to get to live, when everyone—everything that she knew was going to die, and there would be no one left to remember it but her?

And then she’s knocked off course.

And she spends two decades—two long, agonizing decades—alone in the dark.

And then she finally she finally manages to make it to Earth. She hasn’t aged a day—she’s still fifteen years old, and she’s lonely, and she’s confused, and she’s terrified, and she hurts, and she wants to go home, she wants her parents, she wants her friends. But she knows. She knows that she’s never going to see them again.

And when she gets to Earth, she’s still alone. She doesn’t understand what anyone is saying and no one understands her. And she doesn’t find Kal-El. Because Kal-El doesn’t really exist. She finds Clark Kent, all grown up. Clark Kent, older than her. Clark Kent, who doesn’t need her to protect him.

And…she failed. She failed her parents.

She wasn’t there. She didn’t see him grow up. She didn’t protect him, she didn’t keep him safe.

And her home, her family, everything she ever had and everything she ever loved is…gone. But she’s still there.

And she must resent her parents, because who wouldn’t? If they hadn’t sent her away, it wouldn’t have made a difference in her cousin’s life. Really, the only difference that it would’ve made is that she wouldn’t be alone. She wouldn’t be suffering. She wouldn’t have to live knowing that everyone else was dead. She wouldn’t feel the guilt of it.

But she does. She does and she misses it and she misses them and she dreams of it. No matter how long it’s been, she’ll still dream of Krypton, and she will until the day she dies.

Kinda makes me a little sad my fluff posts don’t do as well as my smut ones. Don’t get me wrong, love smut (wouldn’t write it if I didn’t!) but sometimes I don’t want my back blown out.

Sometimes I want my fictional men to hold me. Maybe I want to hold them. Maybe I just want to write fluffy love instead of mind blowing sex.

Munch + soft dom!Harry is so fun to write, but what about Harry who finds you at the end of every day and holds you close? Especially after what happened with the Triwizard Tournament? Harry who’s worried that with Voldemort back, you might be next. Harry whose eyes follow you through every room. Harry who doesn’t hesitate when it comes to you. Harry who has night terrors because what if the only person who’s ever made his heart swell with love ends up cold and limp in his arms?

Splinter's a dad who knows his mistakes and is trying to make it better. He was grieving what he lost of humanity and became neglectful in his own depression. It took him so long to actually start to change the way he treated his sons, because he realized his faults and realized how much his sons meant to him. He was arguably closer to April than his sons because she reminded him of what he used to be. That was more comforting than being around his boys. He realized his trauma then decided to fix himself based off of that. He cares so much about his sons, just has a rough time showing it through his own immaturity and his own grief. He doesnt know how to handle Draxum in the beginning due to the fact that it's a major trauma for him. He had to grow a trust towards Draxum to be there for the boys, and even then I cant imagine they got along after.

While Draxum was literally a supervillain who got reformed. He had to sit with what hes done and decided to change through it after he fell from his position. He got shown kindness, something he wasnt used to due to his own brutality, and didnt know what to do with it. He grew depressed at the lack of his powers and let Mikey pick him up. He then grew attached to the boys and as we saw. Mikey's compassion and his faith in Draxum's ability made him softer towards humans. He could finally see the light of the world and decide he could have a family through it. His relationship with Splinter is strained due to their shared pasts. But its something neither of them regret due to their sons. Theyd both do anything to save them.

They aren't bad fathers, and I don't believe that after season two, one of them should be on a higher pedestal than the other. They both have their flaws and both had to learn how to overcome them. Basically they're a divorced couple who had to learn from their past mistakes and get past the previous toxicity they used to have in order to help their children. The dysfunctional parents that are trying to learn to be functional in their already kinda-functional family. (But the functional is just the siblings)

okay, so a little while ago I mentioned that in English we’re reading ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ right? Well, if you’ve read that book you’d know that there’s a whole court case that goes down (see what I’m getting at?). We’re getting ready to read that part and so today we discussed court room terminology. AND WHERE ELSE HAVE WE HEARD OF A COURT CASE?? FUCKING SW!! So I knew all the terminology right out the gate (except for the very few terminology that wasn’t used in the SW court case like Bailiff- which I learned from the discussion we had that that is essentially what Proto was during the trial) and I really helped further the whole lesson we had.

Although it does not come without its faults as I could NOT stop thinking about SW and I even quoted it directly a couple times when I spoke ;-;
