Hey wouldn’t it be crazy if the human SOULS were revived after Undertale’s True Pacifist ending? Wouldn’t it be insane if they all had their memories of Flowey’s past resets restored after being absorbed? Wouldn’t it be messed up if Clover found a miraculously happy ending but was terrified of the fact that Flowey was unaccounted for and perfectly capable of ripping it all away at any moment, if he hadn’t already done so in the past, taking everyone’s joyful memories in doing so?

Sorry for taking so long!! This was asked on my main but I'm answering it here. Hope you don't mind. I have a feeling I know who asked this, but I will take the opportunity to ramble about Flowey's identity.

To start with, obviously the whole dying and coming back wrong and failing to be Asriel would leave him questioning who he is. He isn't Asriel anymore. Not with the trauma everything that's happened. But, in a time loop with no consequences, he isn't himself. He is instead whatever he needs to be to get what he wants. He pretends to be the friendly flower helping everyone, but also pretends to be the villain killing everyone. Most of all, he pretends that he is above feeling anything, unable to be hurt by anything.

Flowey very much copies other characters. He takes things he finds useful or admires in others. He is cobbling together pieces of things he likes to form his personality. But...he is still pretending. Trying to be whatever he needs to be to get him that next line of dialogue or closer to the souls. Having multiple masks but nothing underneath.

I don't think he can really explore who he is until he is out of the time loop. When his actions have consequences and he can actually grow as a person instead of constantly going back. But how do you start rebuilding yourself after who knows how long of everything being meaningless? When you have no direction or purpose in life? Good question. I don't know. But I guess it can start with who you want to be. Or at least, what you want to do.

Back to trans Flowey. My go to for Flowey's gender is that Contrapoints quote of "I look inside and ask do I feel like a man or a woman? And after all these years, the answer is still that I feel like shit." Except maybe replace "shit" with "nothing". That feeling of being so disconnected from oneself that gender doesn't even factor. Just using the pronouns that everyone is used to for convenience. Not knowing how to even begin unpacking all that when you don't even know who you are. Maybe that's just me projecting, but I do like he/it for Flowey because of this.

HOWEVER, I also really like @m00nvale's idea that Flowey tried a few runs as a girl to see what would happen. It didn't fix (her)him, but (s)he didn't...exactly...hate it.

Ultimately, possibly in the far future, I would like Flowey to reach a point where (s)he realizes that the advantage of being "nothing" is that you can then be anything. Continuing the process of experimenting, picking what (s)he likes, and letting (her)himself be shaped by those around (her)him. So what if (s)he ends up changing through different personalities and identities? If (s)he can trust that there is now a person behind all those masks, then maybe all those masks are (her)him as well. Maybe (s)he can let (her)himself be different things without forcing (her)himself to be the "good son" or "loving friend" or "heartless villain" or "helpful hero" or "sassy little bitch". (S)he can decide: "I want to be this today".

All that to say: genderfluid Flowey

She doesn't really give an explanation when people ask.

(I will continue using he/him most of the time because I'm used to it though)

Even if they know some of their dreams are from different timelines, this has got to be a strange one to explain.
