That’s a loaded ask ngl… my last brain cells are working overtime for this one. Let’s see…
Since they barely interacted in the show and comics, I took the liberty of imagining them interacting a lot more. Does this qualify as a headcanon? Lolol anyway here’s the real ones:
I believe they share the same deep loneliness. Both are essentially “tools” of the empire, since Thragg isn’t a heir and just a placeholder. Place warmer? Sure, all of the viltrumites are tools, but it’s pretty extreme when it comes to Thragg and Conquest. Both of them don’t have any friends, no even remotely meaningful connection to the rest of their kind. They’re like the two sides of the same coin to me…
Everyone’s afraid of Thragg, even Conquest (not really, I believe he’s more excited than anything) , but unlike the others Conq is the closest to hmmm actually reaching Thragg’s level of power. Which uk uk means that he could potentially stand up to Thragg, allow some witty remarks etc thrown at regent when noones looking. SO MUCH could be going on behind closed doors or in the dim lit halls… While all the others tremble, Conquest lives for thrill, lacking the same level of respect for the empire.
Plus Thragg’s super cute (THOSE CHEEKS, that lil pout wahhh cute button nose, pretty eyes…), I think conquest thinks the same. So cute it’s disgusting!! Also pretty terrifying which adds to the allure.
If it wasn’t for Conquest’s history of countless victories and successful missions, I don’t think Thragg would’ve even glanced at him. Even though Conquest is a wild thing, Thragg respects power and strength, acknowledging contribution to the empire, if mostly misguided.
Ah and yes they fight A LOT, wrestle, whatever. It’s sort of a way to show their affection? Since they’re viltrumites and both are very strong. Not sure if Thragg would be a fan of that as much as Conquest, but they’d both enjoy kicking each other’s butts. Ohhhh love is in the air… WRONG is their blood and sweat and fists flying everywhere. Peak of romance am I right or am I right?
They have a pretty interesting and fun dynamic in my head! Crazy old man who’s deeply lonely and pretty pathetic paired with the most reserved being in the universe who embodies pinnacle of their race but overall deeply delusional and lonely also. Man… They’re so doomed it’s not even funny.
