Ryland was always the nerdy one. He went through a huge space phase when Court was still around (a phase that never fully left). He found the Orion constellation and the Gemini constellation and showed them to his brothers. Gemini was for him and Colt, and Orion’s Belt was for all 3 of them. Eventually, they got separated. Court “died.” Ryland went to space. None of them ever forgot the constellations (well, Ryland got the memory back eventually). They can’t contact each other physically anymore, but they look for the constellations and talk to the stars, especially Colt and Court for Ryland.
