Quinn smiled a bit as soon as the other woman pulled her phone out, the two of them focusing both of their attention on the guy who’d wiped moments prior. He got settled back on his horse, somehow managing to really brush off the previous incident so that he could put on a show for the audience. “So far so good…as much as I wanna be disappointed right now - I’m kinda impressed by the fact that he’s keeping his shit together this time ‘cause it looked like it hurt before.”

She lets out a disappointed sigh when the other doesn’t immediately fall, lowering her camera as Quinn speaks. “There’s no way it didn’t hurt. Kind of disappointing, really but good for him,” she brings a grin to her lips as she watches. Just in case.

“A soup bath? Is that a new facial or something?” Lucy asked, still half asleep from her little nap. But she soon realized what Raven was talking about when she looked down at the soup in front of her. “Oh…” She pushed the soup away and looked back up at Raven. “It’s just work. Life. I usually have gallons of coffee and/or a nap. I had neither today.”

“No,” Raven says softly, shaking her head. She laughs quietly when the other comes to but her laughter dies out as she speaks again. “Makes sense,” he replies with a shrug. “Were you waiting for anyone or is this seat empty? I’ll get us a couple coffees, keep you afloat for now,” he offers as she waves a hand to flag down a server.

“I want the werewolf,” Lucy mumbled as the soft hand was placed on her shoulder. “Not the - Not the -” Lucy jumped in her seat, waking up to the soft cooing of Raven’s voice. “What?” She glanced around and then up at Raven with a confused look on her face. “Hey… I’m- I’m alright,” Lucy said with a yawn. “How are you?”

Raven finds herself giggling as quietly as she can as Lucy stirs. She didn’t want to startle the other but she also didn’t want her waking up to someone laughing in her face. “You sure, babe? You were a few seconds short of taking a soup bath,” she tells with a small smile. “What’s got you all tuckered out?” She asks in a concerned tone of voice, taking the seat across from her now.

“Any and all sleeping positions, my love. They’re all my favorite.”

“That’s a vague question, don’t you think? I mean, are you asking in terms of relationships? Friendships? Most important things to grab if my house burnt down? Narrow it down, sugar, there’s just so much.”

Quinn stayed quiet as she watched, hoping this man did get back on his horse. When he did, she turned to the woman beside her and said “alright, get your phone ready. Let’s see if we are about to witness something horrific.” Maybe that’s not what she should be wanting to see but…people during the Renaissance probably had a more morbid idea of humor.

She follows the instruction well, placing her phone up in front of her but her eyes linger on the man as he gets back on. “Here’s to hoping it’s not a waste of a video on my phone,” she muses with a chuckle. It wasn’t that she wanted anyone to get hurt, however, at least if it happened again she’d be properly prepared. And with a companion who seemed to appreciate other’s embarrassments just as much as she did, herself.

“I don’t think it would be something funny, but is he okay?”

“Oh, he’s fine. Probably laughing about it as we speak, I know I would be.”

       ❝  maybe  the  horse  sensed  he  had  no  clue  what  he  was  doing  a  pulled  a  power  move.  he’s  lucky  he  didn’t  get  stomped  by  the  hooves  !!  that  happened  to  me  once  one  time  i  was  visiting  my  dad  and  my  horse  got  spooked  by  a  snake.  it  was  like  that  scene  in  the  princess  diaries  except  i  didn’t  have  a  hot  chris  pine  to  save  me  but  instead  i  got  two  broken  ribs.  they’re  fine  now  but  maybe  having  a  handsome  guy  console  me  would  make  it  a  better  experience  to  look  back  on.  anyways,  horses  !!  if  you  want  i  could  always  teach  how  to  properly  ride  'cause  it’s  something  everyone  should  get  to  try  at  least  once.  horses  are  one  of  my  favorite  animals  but  i  promise  i’m  not  a  horse  girl  type.  ❞

“He came pretty close, though, if you seen it. Oh God, you’re kidding! Glad you’re fine now but that ought to have been scary as hell. I’m sure someone easy on the eyes would have definitely made it better, could have been a welcomed distraction, I imagine. The only way I can even remotely relate to that story is all the way back when I first got my bike... It was so new and I was so cocky, I took a turn way too fast and skidded into the side of the road, I don’t recommend it by the way, but everything was fine. I can say, I was wicked sore for a good week after that. Anyway, I’d love to ride, how much do you typically charge? I think I’d take you up on the offer whether you acted as a horse yourself or not, the animals are wonderful.”

     “You are an actual insane person. Any and all of my insanity I get from you — what if you break something?”

"Don’t you worry your pretty little mind, it’s all in good fun but safety does come first. Most of the time. You get all the best qualities from me and you know it.”

“oh nothing, my grudge is more against the people who ride them.. I’m guessing carrying a 100 plus pound person must really hurt their backs.”

"I don't think that's anything to worry about. Those gorgeous beasts weigh at least two tons, the least of their concerns should be little ol' us."

“Yeah, that was pretty frightening. But which part are you saying was fun? The riding or the falling off?”

“Both, of course. He experienced flying for the whole 5 seconds he was in the air, I’d love to ask him how it felt.”

       ❝  maybe  the  horse  picked  up  on  some  bad  vibes  from  him.  animals  can  sense  that  kind  of  stuff,  you  know  ??  play  on  your  heart  ??  that  sounds  anatomically  impossible,  but  my  dad  owns  some  country  clubs  and  let  me  ride  the  horses  he  has.  they’re  so  sweet  and  adorable  even  when  they  kinda  smell  a  bit.  the  same  can  be  said  to  humans  though  so  i  can’t  judge.  ❞

“I’ve always heard that and definitely believe in it, however, I think it was more about his stupidity than anything. It looked like he wanted to fall, at least to me. It probably isn’t, you’re right but I think it’s a cute expression, so I’m keeping it. Good for you, honestly, I love to do things like that; I want to do everything at least once.”

“of course- how could I miss it? that poor bastard- but I guess that’s what you get for riding a horse.”

“You have something against horses? What’d they ever do to you?”

       ❝  oh,  he  fell  off  ??  i  thought  that  was  an  artistic  choice  of  his.  more  importantly,  i  was  trying  to  figure  out  what  type  of  horse  that  was  'cause  it’s  gorgeous.  do  you  think  they’ll  let  me  ride  'em  ??  ❞

“No, that was undoubtedly a fall. And with so many ways he could have played it off, too. No way, you would? Don’t play on my heart now.”
