I was born in the year of the horse many moons ago and this year is also the fire element so I've painted a fire horse in the style of traditional Chinese watercolor~

"Don't feed the trolls" is based on the idea that if you starve a troll of attention, they will give up and stop being a troll.

This is a frustrating myth. Social media has allowed trolls access to endless attention. One person ignoring them is not going to discourage them. They probably won't even realize they were ignored. But if you make them look stupid you can definitely rustle their jimmies. Maybe even sour their day a bit.

Moreover you are scolding the victim of trolling for defending themselves. You are telling people not to stand up to bullies. Why aren't you telling the troll to stop fucking trolling? You seem more upset with me than the actual troll.

Responding to trolls helps me. I was bullied as a child and never defended myself. I always took it. I swallowed their words and let them fester. Ignoring them doesn't help me.

So I respond.

And I think I'm good at responding.

And I think my responses are informative and helpful to people witnessing the exchange. I turn a negative into a positive, I stand up for myself, I bring attention to issues that are important to me, and I get to make trolls look silly.

The trick is to know when to drop the mic. It's important to develop the self awareness to know when you've entered a feedback loop. Say your piece and exit gracefully before things get pointless and stupid.

The US Government is currently trying to pass an incredibly dangerous national law for trans youth called HR 2616.

This bill would ban all Federally funded schools from teaching about gender identity or sexual orientation, prevent teachers from using the correct pronouns and names for trans students, remove books with any trans representation in them, and even go as far as to prevent teachers from acknowledging trans identity AT ALL.

Any school that does not follow this will lose all federal funding. This bill would also require teachers to forcibly out trans students to their families, which would be fatal to any trans student with a transphobic Family or just hateful family in general. Trans people are already a group that already has some of the highest rates of being victim to suicide, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

This bill actively makes teachers put those innocent children at such a big risk. This bill has rapidly passed the house this week with support from all 209 republicans, as well as 8 democrats. But, it's still being voted on in the senate, which means there is still time to help stop this.

To help stop this, you can visit 5calls.org (look up 2616 in the search bar), one of the most top issues filed Oppose Attacks on LGBTQ+ Students. Once you put in your general location, it will pull-up contact information for your senator, and give you a script for calling them.

If you are a minor and/or do not feel comfortable doing this, PLEASE repost this on here, or any other platform you are on/can find! This needs to be heard and fought against.

on one hand, I really like that Jason is getting his own city and is getting away from Batman in this new run

on the other hand, I don’t like that they’re just second handing another Dick Grayson love interest to Jason, and not shipping him with Rose Wilson - even if Red Hood and Huntress’ dynamic does sound like it’d be interesting … the new look is also not doing it for me at all

but it can’t be worse than H2SH, and classist Alfred in Robin and Batman…
