La tabla esmeralda de Hermes Trismegistus.
Un obelisco es un pilar monolítico que hasta ahora sabemos que simbolizaba a Ra en la cultura egipcia (el Dios del Sol y del origen de la vida) y cuando se erigían por parejas para flanquear las puertas de los templos lo hacían como señal de protección y defensa.
Desde el valor simbólico del obelisco, en esta pieza intenté poner en evidencia la ambivalencia de lo bendito o sagrado: aquello que algunos consideran buenaventura o algo divino, para otros es completamente lo opuesto (maldito, profano) y viceversa. También estaba interesado en trabajar con dos campos formales opuestos: construir una escultura que al mismo tiempo dibujara sobre el espacio virtual a través de su reflejo.

The Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus.
The obelisk is a monolithic pillar which we know until now it symbolized Ra in the egyptian culture (God of the sun and the origin of the life) and when it were rised up as couples to flank the doors of the temples, they did it as a sign of protection and defense.
From the symbolic value of the obelisk, in this piece I tried to put in evidence the ambivalence of the blessed or sacred: what some considers good fortune or something divine, some others consider it completely the opposite (cursed, profane) and viceversa. Also I was interested to work with two opposite formal fields: build an sculpture which at the same time draws over the virtual space thru its reflection.
