i think this of post-15x08 pre-15x19 michael as well but postcanon michael ESPECIALLY. i think you would actually have to drag that archangel kicking and screaming back to heaven if you wanted him up there for anything. like i really do think he no longer wants a single thing to do with that place

maybe pre-15x19 michael would've been amicable to the idea. like he wouldn't particularly WANT to go up there but he would if he had to. there's familiarity in revisiting the place of his old duties or whatever. but postcanon michael? after chuck brutally murdered him? after he lost adam and now has an ungodly amount of separation anxiety that he never thought he'd have? no i think he'd plant his feet on earth and refuse to be budged. there's no sense of nostalgia for it anymore there's just the old weight of his father's orders on his shoulders and the reminder of what he did for him and everything that he gave for him and what his father DID to him in return. and he doesn't even want to play leader anymore he just wants to watch adam wake up in the morning and be all grouchy because it's too early. do you get me

last anon got me thinking about the dadam au again but AFTERWARDS in the time that michael comes back. like that has got to be so freaky to a kid to realize that there is Something Else living in your parental figure’s body that can take control sometimes. like you look into your parent’s eyes and know in some way that it isn’t them. but with adam having been praying to michael in the empty just as a way to deal with his grief michael already KNOWS all about his kid and he loves them already because they’re adam’s. so the hard part is just. connecting. with them. like the first time adam saw michael he was descending down to him in all his true form warrior of god glory and he was cold and distant and willing to do anything to see his plans come to fruition. the first time adam’s kid sees michael he’s kneeling down on one knee telling them hi and that it’s nice to meet them and making himself as nonthreatening as possible of his own volition because they’re distraught and adam’s kind of distraught because they’re distraught and michael already fucked up one family situation and he’d rather not fuck up this one as well.
