I'm kind of glad Safi was hinted to have one-sided feelings for Max. Its quite nice to have unrequited love represented in a realistic way where the person doesn't actually get who they want in the end or there's not some love triangle extravaganza.

Its sad, its painful, and it makes you become angry. Perfectly realistic.

To be honest, I'm not actually sure if that's what the preferred reading of the situation was but that's the way I saw it and I appreciate it for that, even if the game isn't perfect.

She deserved a well rounded closure, to feel like she finally belonged to something, to somewhere...she begged to die because she was desperate to live, she was desperate to feel like she was loved for everything that meant being her. The strong, volatile personality. The shapeshifting power, intense emotions. She kept loosing pieces of herself while trying to find herself. And then she found Max and in her, Safi saw the piece she wanted to keep. For once, she didn't loose anything. For once, she found a tiny bit of herself she thought was long gone.
