I have been listening to the people who think this season has been humiliating and humbling Louis and I just can’t agree. All of the moments they consider humiliating are moments I see him displaying emotional strength and empathy. His anger and resentment has always been a cage. Something that has led him down inroads to hell. Louis grew a lot in seasons one and two, but he’s not done growing. He’s not a flawless man, the shit he said to Claudia was insane—and a great example of how much further he has to go! The stuff with Regina was nauseating a a great example of him trying to heal and not knowing how. Spiralling in his grief. Trying to fix the past. Not knowing how to fix anything without using money. He’s gonna capitalism and exploit his way out of his guilt. Wait, fuck, why does this feel bad? I love how flawed Louis is. He’s really trying! But, he died at 30 while suicidal, trying to repent for being who he is. He grew up seeing people as things to be bought and sold. It’s a system he still uses! It’s a system that repulses him! There’s a reason he was living in Dubai.
