Today marks more than a date on a calendar. It's the anniversary of the founding of the Organisation of African Unity in 1963. A declaration that African people, across the continent and the diaspora, belong to themselves.

At Sistah Scifi, we've always believed Black speculative fiction is part of that same tradition. The futures our authors build, the worlds they imagine, reclaim, and refuse to leave behind, are an act of liberation in their own right.
