I also sometimes get possessed by the Voices (my osdd system) and suffer the Horrors (chronic pain) . I am fictionkin but welcome all doubles as long as you’re polite （＾ω＾）I personally believe in the multiverse and the idea tha there are as many Mizukis (and other fictionkins) as there are thoughts that can be had. I love the voices (as I’ve lovingly nicknamed them in order to confuse people who don’t know I’m plural) and sometimes they will post things here with or without indicating its not Estrelle posting. Im a minor so no explixit nsfw, however I am nearly an adult so like. Innuendos and sex jokes may happen despite me being aroace, and I do not shy away from conversations about freedom of sexual expression regardless of my personal comfort with sexual media. I believe in self-moderation, parents being responsible for what their kids see online, and am anti-censorship even about topics that make me uncomfortable. The block button and filters exist for a reason and it’s so you don’t have to see things you don’t like.
US-based but trying to learn more about the rest of the world and what’s uniquely US fuckery vs. a more universal experience. Learning Japanese, interested in Chinese culture and history, I know how to read Russian cyrillic but only phonetically, I don’t know what it means. I don’t know how I aquired this knowledge without knowing more than “shto” “nyet” and “da” in written russian (forgive me for the lack of cyrillic keyboard im working on setting up more languages in my virtual keyboard). My chinese immigrant great grandparents didn’t teach any of their culture or language to my grandfather and great aunt and uncles, but I’m interested in knowing what they knew but didn’t pass down. I don’t know Mandarin (the dialect they spoke when in China, as per my great grandparents themselves) but would like to learn at some point! I welcome random language facts regardless of whether or not I speak the language myself, go ham with it.
People like to do shouting discourse about random shit that doesn’t affect them instead of productive discourse about things that do affect them so here are my stances below the cut. If you don’t agree with any of these, I welcome polite debate but will block you if things get heated, for your sake and mine. I’ll link a rentry as to the reasoning behind certain wording I use as to not drag this post on forever, but let me make one thing queer clear: If you dogpile, harass, defame, or otherwise attack trans women for no reason other than their gender making them an easy target, then you are not welcome here. I try to be as fucking understanding as possible with people who disagree with me, but if you’re fine with enbys and trans men then you have no goddamn reason to go after trans women. A person being bad has nothing to do with their gender, assigned at birth or otherwise. If a trans woman happens to be a bad person, then she’s a bad person REGARDLESS of her gender. You do not misgender, deadname, dox, harass, or send threats to her over actions unrelated to her gender. This goes for all trans people but tumblr has an issue with randomly selecting the innocent trans woman of the week to harass off the internet. Ones gender has nothing to do witb their supposed transgressions, and as the accuser, you hold the burden of truth. If you accuse a trans woman of something, you better have solid evidence too back yourself up. Screenshots can be easily faked therefore I do not count them as Solid Evidence against people. They are circumstantial at best and only work as evidence when more concrete evidence (Links, videos of actions, legal records if its that kinda mess) also is presented. Hearsay “I was told that X was bad because she did this and that” is not evidence, however “X told me that she did this and that, here’s a screen recording of us on zoom when she said this and that and here’s a (redacted) police report I found of X reported for this and that crime” is better given that you provide more than screenshots. I’m a graphic design student ffs I know how easy it is to make a discord screenshot look like someone said something they didn’t. The burden of proof is on the accuser (a supposed You, not necessarily the person reading this) and not the victim (most often on Tumblr a trans woman, but this applies to everyone)
Yes that is a very US legal system way of dealing with allegations, however as of writing this I have not found better ways to verify allegations short of actually just fucking doxxing someone, which I will note I do NOT condone morally AND legally. Don’t dox people, kids.

I’m so curious to see how long people have been on AO3! I know some people have been on there since beta/invite only, but I would love to see what the number is on tumblr!
I know my existence plays up the quirkyness of autism which is. Not Intended, and imo the perception of autism as something that’s always fun and silly is detrimental to autistic people getting the support we need. However my quirkyness is my personality beyond autism, and it gets attributed to autism because my personality obviously affects how I interact with my autism, both positively and negatively.
I know some people would prefer I speak plainly and seriously about the issues that autism causes, and I am capable of doing that when needed (like now.) But if I downplay my personality for the sake of not being an autistic stereotype, isn’t that just masking for a different group of people? Why should I abandon part of myself just to prove that my disability is actually disabling? I debated even writing this post because I genuinely agree that autism has been quirkified to a point that has the potential to be detrimental to autistic people’s lives. But I also refuse to change my personality or react in ways that aren’t my genuine reaction to my disability.
I’m full of whimsy and that makes it easier for me to exist when the whole of society is built in a way that denies my worth as a person. I will not stop being silly or whimsical because doing so would be masking a self that I spent years building after losing my identity to trauma. But I will also have serious conversations like this when it’s needed, and those two things would likely exist without autism, although the sharp distinction is probably as sharp as it is because of autism.
I am not ashamed of my autism, that’s not why I’m a silly little guy with whimsy online. I’m a silly little guy with whimsy online because I’m a silly little guy with whimsy in real life, too. I also melt down in public and struggle in school and skip meals if two different textures touch and repress myself because I’m not socially “right” and get so invested in one thing that I don’t know how to not talk about it.
Autism isn’t quirky silly. It’s a diagnosable disorder for a damned reason. But I am quirky silly and I hate myself for fitting a harmful stereotype but I’m sick of changing myself for the comfort of others. The only thing that leads to is dissociation and stressful splitting.

astronomy is one of those things that are like. wow this stuff is really fascinating to learn about but it's literally so out of the world that every piece of information i see makes me wonder how the fuck people even found out about any of this. especially all the really precise maths and numerical figures and astronomical units. how did people even do that at first
basically: lots and lots of looking at the sky and making precise measurements from different locations and at different times of year. lots and lots of geometry
Eratosthenes first calculated the Earth's circumference without leaving Egypt! since the city of Syene is on the Tropic of Cancer, on the summer solstice, the sun is directly overhead (at the zenith) at noon, so shadows are cast directly downwards, not sideways at all. he then went north to Alexandria and measured the angle of shadow on the summer solstice at noon. assuming the Earth is a sphere and that light from the sun comes in parallel lines (which are both practically true for these purposes), if you know the distance between the two cities, you have the arc length, and if you measure the angle of the shadow, you have the angle. from that, you can work out the rest of the circle, and from there, the circumference of the Earth. he got 45,000km, which is within 14% of the right answer (~40,040km)!
for a while, a lot of people made the assumptipn that the Earth was the center of the universe and that everything orbited it. Copernicus wasn't the first to point out how this didn't work and how it made more sense for the sun to be the center of the solar system instead, but he was the one that got listened to, and when heliocentrism was broadly accepted, astronomy started moving really fast. (not that i'm pretty sure this is a western thing; the east's astronomy history is different, but i'm unfortunately not familiar with it)
geocentrism didn't stick around because of things like the planets moving backwards in the sky sometimes. they tried to come up with epicycles, which is like the planets going in circles while following their orbit? like a spirograph? it's hard to describe
epicycles worked to mathematically describe what you can see in the sky, but it didn't make much physical sense. when Galileo discovered the Galilean moons of Jupiter, it was proven that there were objects that orbited something other than the Earth, which is what started tipping other astronomers into believing in heliocentrism
and then kepler came along and was like hmmm. these orbits can't be perfect circles they need to be ellipses. and then yayy!!! okay i need to go now Plealse ask me any questions you have i need to explain astronomy to people

in 1676, Ole Rømer was looking at Jupiter's moon Io and realized the eclipses were happening at different times depending on how far Earth and Juplter were from each other. so he was like Hm. what if..... light has a speed! and then he calculated it must be around 225,000km/sec. it's actually 299,792km/sec, so he got really close, for over 300 years ago!
in 1848~49, Hippolyte Fizeau basically pointed a light and put a mirror 8km away to reflect it back, but with a gear in front of it. the gear's teeth would block the light but would move out of the way when rotating. when spinning it at a certain speed, the light would get through the gap on the way in, but would hit a tooth on the way out. using all of that, you can calculate the speed of light. he got 313,274km/sec, which is within 4% of the right answer!

So whatever staff reviewed my complaint agreed that it wasn't explicit. So thank you for that, moderator. This highlights that the problem starts with bad actors reporting anything they don't like, and that it's a tossup if your appeal is seen by a bot, a normal human, or a bigot.
I'm grateful I can still touch people and spread positivity. Many of my queer siblings, brothers, and sisters - especially trans sisters - can't say the same.
But no matter what happens, we will always have each other. Every letter in our alphabet is a pillar holding up a beautiful world that only stands if we're all in it together. The rest of society may call you a monster, but it calls me one too. Maybe you won't hear it from the rest of them, but listen and you will hear it from me.
