I'm an eighteen-year-old multidiciplinary female artist, self proclaimed cartoon connoisseur and romance truther. I'm a total geek and I love love love animation, romance, the aughts and more. Anything bright and fun is sure to pique my interest!

This blog is just me posting whatever the heck xD. Sometimes I’ll write up a thinkpiece or share art. Expect plenty of reposts and random digitised thoughts. I wanna neaten this place up but for now I’ll keep posting nonsense.

HUGE UPDATE ON THE NEW AATC REBOOT!!!

Michael Bagdasarian (son of Ross and Janice) has reached out to fans on Instagram to explain the situation and confirm that there will be ABSOLUTELY NO AI used in the upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks reboot.

In his message he states the following:

"There's some Alvin updates and I wanted to send you a message Ross and Janice wanted to send out:

Long overdue message, but we've been squirreling away working on creating projects and opportunities for chipmunk fans. Janice has been working on multiple stories, but we wanted to quickly write you to say that we're very excited to announce that we've partnered with a company that can help us create a direct link to our fans.

They will be focusing on sharing our stories and programs in a way that's accessible to you all.

We can't wait to start delivering our old and new chipmunk projects along with official merchandise you all have asked for and more opportunities for fan engagement. Exciting chipmunk opportunities lay ahead. Thank you so much for your patience.

All of our gratitude,

Ross and Janice."

He also went on to say:

"Alvin is not going to be an influencer, and we are not using AI. That version of Alvin isn't an official final look [and] the video [posted] today was meant to let people know that the "headshot" is not how Alvin is going to look."

Munk Media also reached out to Michael and got more information about the situation. They've posted a video on it.

In his messages to Munk Media he states:

"I have a strong refusal to use any AI unless forced to via Google search or Meta AI."

"I'm really happy to report that that image is not the Alvin used in the reboot but was more of a promotional/announcement image."

He also explains how they've been working with dozens of artists and animators on this project, and that much of it is still in very early production.

We still have no answers on what happened with "Golden" but I decided to reach out to him myself (on my personal account) to both thank him and see if he has an explanation. If he responds to me, I'll share the news here. For now I just want to say. Please don't go hunting him down. He was kind enough to talk to the fans he already had contact with but I don't want dozens of fan accounts spamming him with questions. We'll find out information when they're ready to give it to us.

But anyway, we can rest easy and look forward to new AATC content!!!

Things I want in the future AATC installment:

Alvin, Simon and Theodore to be more stylish... Please y'all are popstars we need you guys to lock in. I need plenty of costume changes..

A plot focusing more on stardom than school life.

A sing-off a la the Girls/Boys of rock and roll sequence from the adventure flick.

No weird fat jokes about Eleanor or Theodore.

More original songs!!!! How We Roll and Get You Goin' goes sooooo hard man.

The Chipettes to have substantial screen time PLSS I was so disappointed with road chip.

Nods to the 80s films, cgi trilogy, 2015 show and etc. The 70th anniversary is coming soon y'all!!!

Not have the Chipettes move in with the Chipmunks. I'm really sick of the weird sneers people make about them being related...

I reallyyyyy really want the Chipettes to have distinguished personalities.

This is a general statement but pleaseeee do something unique!! Don't just re-hash the films from the aughts. I don't care if it's bad just give us something new!

Don't make Simon so stuck up... Let the guy be a lil' cheeky once in a while!!! Moreover, I'd like for all three of the boys to have a strong character arc, instead of it being focused on Alvin like usual.

Unsure if this is a hot take but MAKE THE CHIPETTES MEANER!!! I wanna see em' being proper rivals, although not necessarily antagonists. I just think it'd be so fun. I mean think of the dynamic between them!!!

Focus more on the comedy than character drama. Of course, any story should have drama but I would appreciate it if they leaned into the absurdity of singing chipmunks.

We both made a lot of mistakes when we were young—I thought disco was coming back, she started a war. I spent my day listening to a long video on the live action movies. Some part of me wanted to try and see if I could combine some more animal-like qualities with the 90s look. While I don't personally care for the super realistic versions of these characters...animals are cute! I love animals and the goofy ways they behave. Animals move in a very fun way, and that's kind of a fun quirk to add to these guys. The 3D movies did do that well.

These aren't permanent design changes in the AU or anything. I was just testing some stuff out, but overall, I'm very neutral on them. I kind of like the tails and the legs, but it's just not as fun to draw...? I don't know how to explain why. I think I would try harder with the looks, though, but again, only for the fun of it!

EXCEPT FOR ALVIN'S EAR NOTCH! THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY STAY! I was messing with that idea before, and then I found out he had one IN CANON! CRAZY!

Hell yes. Just got done with the first two seasons of Primal and that was practically a Conan show already, can't wait to see this. And it seems to be adapting / expanding "Queen of the Black Coast!"
