There was nothing Rain enjoyed more than flaunting his âpower,â which, in reality, was his insanity. Â He lacked the mercy factor, making him nothing but the man keep a good distance from, Â Even though he had been part of the Vipers for years, he had no âfriends,â per say. Â There were those that cowered in his presence and retreated each time his name was mentioned, and there were those that looked to him as God, the ruler of life and death. Â Though these select few never interacted with him, he was completely aware of their existence, Â These same people were the ones who tried to copy cat his evils, and unsuccessfully at that. Â Their efforts were admirable, really, but, Rain possessed the kind of mind that no one could ever replicate. Â Every cut, every break, every killing had a mark, separating his handiwork from all the rest. Â
With all the dignity in the world he stalked around his turf, watching and laughing to himself as he caught the frightened eyes of those passing by. Â They so desperately tried to disconnect the contact within milliseconds, all of them looking pathetic and like deer in blaring headlights of a car barreling down the road and unwilling to stop. Â If he was feeling in an extremely good mood, he would even go so far as to entice the fear out of the sheep he so constantly toyed with. Â Just seeing them flinch at his advances and even squeak in reaction to him physically come towards them was nothing but pure delight. Â Really it was nothing but accurate to call him anything but sadistic.
With his pride on his sleeve, he made constant appearances in every area that belonged to the Vipers, making sure that his presence and existence was recognized. Â Not a day went by that he discreetly asserted his undeserved power spawned from nothing but fear. Â Whether it be the most hardened and dangerous of the members or the prostitutes, Rain knew where he was among the ranks and, in the bluntest of terms, he glorified himself for it. Â He was his own god. Â He was the ruler of his soul.
Waking up that morning in his dingy hole of a home, Rain set out to do as he did everyday. Â He needed his fill of power for the day and he knew exactly where he wanted to start. Â He lurked in the daylight just as he did in the night, keeping himself in whatever shadow he was allowed as he walked the morning streets of Seoul, the slightest chill nipping at his cheeks. Â With a worn, leather jacket zipped up to his neck, he kept his hands in his pockets as he walked along, each step bringing him closer and closer to his morning fun.
It didnât take him long to reach the brothel, seeing as he lived fairly close. Â It was convenient, really. Â He could so easily stop there in the morning, get a quick fix of he intimidation game, and then head off to do whatever else his work had in store for him that day. Â The way it was setup was just perfect.
Feeling those eyes as soon as he slipped in those front doors, it was more than thrilling. Â Those shrinking pupils and growing whites of the eyes made a small, demented smirk play on his lips. Â He listened carefully as he heard the faint whispers and saw the sudden turning away of heads as those walking around him turned the other way to avoid him at all costs. Â With all intentions of torturing the unsuspecting and suddenly frantic little mice skittering around to escape him, he came up to to a select few from behind, breathing his hot air down their necks and pinching lightly at their sides, making them squirm like mad, the swift convulsions shooting shivers of pleasure down his back. Â The only problem that came about was, he soon grew bored with minutes. Â The little rodents fled all too quickly and by now it was if they knew better than to lurk around this early. Â Internally he cursed the surprising intellectual skills his subjects possessed, yet, decided not to dwell on it so much. Â He wasnât nearly satisfied enough and needed to change that.
Walking the halls, he found himself alone, going further into a territory he knew wasnât so often visited, finding his chances of finding another being around the more he went. Â At that moment praying to himself, he was lead from the hallway into a bigger, more open room, what he remembered had been the previous lounge to the building. Â The decor was clearly not that of the new addition, yet, to the eye one with a more unique taste, it was quite tasteful.
Stopping in his tracks, his lace up boots quietly squeaking on the flooring, his shoulders dropped and released a breath, his eyes shifting towards the ceiling as he began to feel some anxiety. Â He hated feeling as if he had wasted time and wasted chances. Â It was embarrassing, seeing as in his mind he was lord of the land, give or take a few others above him in a more legal sense.
While taking a better look at his surroundings, he shook his head and breathed out again, more frustrated than the first time. Â The place was barren and it had been that way for a while it looked like. Â âDamn,â he whispered, listening as a quiet laughter echoed in the back of his mind, the voice morphing into two and then three, eventually turning out to be several. Â But, in an instant of pure relief, the laughing quickly stopped following the almost inaudible squeak of the couch nearby, his sensitive ears immediately registering the sound.Â
Silently, the strolled up to the back of the piece of furniture, his level of excitement quickly rising with his hope as he looked over the back, seeing a quick glance of blonde. Â âSo,â he said suddenly, âthis place isnât so deserted after all.â
