Extra [ Gain x Ravi ]
A job she didn't normally have to do - enforce.
A person she didn't normally have to see - Ravi.
Tonight was just another night for Gain, besides the fact that she had been called to work with a stranger to watch the borders of the Vipers territory. Enforce? She had done no such thing before. She was an interrogator and only occasionally a hitwoman. She wasn't the kind of woman who liked to induce fear into her opponents. She preferred tearing them away, bit by bit, and watching them writhe in anguish and despair. Fear was something that always came along with pain naturally, not something she usually had to actively seek out in other people.
However, this was something she had been assigned to, and she had little protest. No one knew what was going on in her head, anyways. She always acted like the same, sweet doll who did the bidding of the higher-ups without a single word of protest. Even if she was sent on a suicide mission, everyone could be sure that she would comply and go along with it quietly. As much as she probably disliked the job of enforcing, since she was told to do it, she would do it. It was as simple as that.
Walking behind Ravi now, she could probably make out a few of his facial features. She wasn't the type to talk very much, nor did she feel awkward about any silences. She knew that other people felt uncomfortable around her, but she never did anything about it. The feelings of other people didn't matter to her, and neither did her own. She had never really understood the concept of "awkward", as the important parts of her missions never had that adjective in the description. So ultimately, "awkward silences" were of little significance to her. Perhaps they meant even less to her than her lost memories did.
They had been walking together through the dark streets for a while, and that same "awkward silence" she felt with other people was heavily suffocating in the atmosphere. Of course, Gain felt nothing, but the air around them was certainly not ideal. Although she was the type who didn't talk unless spoken to, and only interjected when she felt it was necessary, she too, was aware that perhaps it would be better to break the quiet even a little. Speaking, she decided, would probably lighten things up even if it was just a little. And she didn't really want him to think of her as shy, as that would probably harm their chemistry in case they came across someone they would have to fight.
So, just to play it safe, she asked in a quiet, flat, voice. "Are we almost there?" By 'there', she meant the edges of the territory, where there was most likely going to be trouble. She hadn't made it clear, but she was sure he understood.
