â Saving the Day â | Jaejoong&Yunho
âHi! Good afternoon!â
The slightly effeminate man greeted one of the librarians behind the counter, with a large smile adorning his lips. He often came to visit and spend some time, so most of the workers here knew him by name already. He hadnât slept very well, he was grumpy and kind of sad. And whatâs better to liven up your mood then playing with the little children on the library? That always made him happy. Those kids were just so cute and adorable, that he felt the need to bite them. It was rare for him to meet the same kids twice, though, maybe because of his unconstant 'schedule'âŚ
After grabbing a book for himself from the culinary section, he made his way to the kidâs section. He was ridiculously excited, almost bouncing his way toward the small room that the section was placed in, but he stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a faint sound of delicate little sobs coming from that direction. He dropped the book in his hands, running to where the sound was coming from. Getting to the kidâs section, he saw a young boy, who could not be more then 6 years old, crying and rubbing his eyes with his small hands. Jaejoong could see the boy shaking because of the sobs, and it broke his heart in pieces. He kneeled down next to the boy, breathing heavily, and gently ran his fingers through the little boyâs hair.
âWhat happened, sweetie? Why are you crying?â There were only a few hiccups as an answer. âTell me, please? Hyung wants to help you.â
âO-Other boys t-took my chair⌠They were b-big bullies! I fell down and it h-hurtsâŚâ Small hands fell down to lay on Jaejoongâs shoulders.
âDonât cryâŚâ Larger hands wiped his tears away. âIf those boys come bother you again, tell me, and Iâll kick their asses ok?â
âO-ok...â Another hiccup and a pout, and then there was a gentle kiss to the boyâs forehead. âH-hyung⌠Can you read me a story?â Finally, there was a bright smile on the boyâs lips, and Jaejoong couldnât help but smile as well. After a nod of Jaeâs head, the boy ran to get the book he wanted the older man to read, giggling. Jaejoong sat down on a nearby chair, a silly smile on his lips, waiting for the boy to come back. Not much time passed by, and Jaejoong heard a childâs scream. Already guessing it was the cute little boy, he got up and went to see what happened, going behind the bookshelf on the far left andâ Wait, was that fire? Yes, it was. And the boy was staring at it, as tears formed in his eyes again. Jaejoong didnât even think twice before picking the boy up in his arms and going to the door, andâ Surprise! The building was on fire.
Shit. Jaejoong scanned the place with his eyes, trying to find some kind of emergency stairs, and as soon as he found it, he ran to open the door. He was about to start leaving the building with the boy, when something hit him. Maybe there were more children in there. It was the kidâs section after all, and he couldnât just leave the kids there. Itâs not like they would be able to escape the second floor of a building in flames alone. So he just set the boy down on the ground, telling him to run down and stay out of the building, which the boy obeyed. As soon as Jaejoong was sure the boy was doing as he was told, he ran back in, noticing the fire had already raged through most of that floor. That was kind of expected, actually, because come on. How long would it take for fire to spread inside a building full of paper and wood?
After some minutes, Jaejoong had already scanned the whole section, and gladly there werenât any other children in there. But, as soon as he walked out of the door and into the corridor in which the emergency stairs were located, he couldnât see anything. There was smoke all around, burning walls, burning ceiling. Where the hell were the stairs? He didnât know anymore, and he sure as heck would not find them in the middle of all this mess.
He leaned against one of the few walls that were still intact, sliding down to sit on the ground. His head fell to the side, and he felt his body weak. Too much running around. Iâll just give up. Iâm pretty much dead already⌠Well, maybe thatâs best for everyone. Wait, what the hellâ There was a strange hot sensation on his shoulder, and he frowned, trying to understand what was going on, until his brain muscles flexed and he looked at his shoulder. Seems like he was going to become Human Torch pretty soon. He let out a scream and tapped his shoulder desperately, laughing at himself after managing to put the fire out. His head fell to the side again, and he could feel his eyes starting to close on their own will.
Iâm tired. Iâll just wait for death here, I guessâŚ
