The wolf had caught up to Kit, looking surprisingly decent for someone who seemingly had to fight the tenrec.

“…are you okay?”

Kit found himself on the cold slopes of the peaks surrounding the White Chateau, tired and out of breath, having gone on foot to conserve his supply of liquid water. When the Wolf spoke, his ear perked up slightly, and he turned to see that, despite having been tossed through a wall, she looked none the worse for wear.

"I'm... fine."

He'd followed Surge's orders as best he could, running as far and as fast as possible, for as long as possible. He didn't stop to consider whether or not Surge would come with them.

The wolf exhaled, looking around.

Whisper took a moment to sit down, taking her mask off for a second to gather her thoughts and breathe.

The cold environment wasn't doing him any favors. He could feel his teeth rattling about in his skull as he tried to talk. He rubbed his arms. It was all he could do to try and keep warm.

Whisper said quietly, more-so to herself than to the fennec. She took notice of his shivering quickly, taking off her jacket and tossing it to him.

“Let’s get somewhere warmer.”

A platter of chilidogs! Can’t be working hungry, and what better to satisfy than chilidogs?

Well, I haven't got any new inventions to stress test, so I think a little more basic materials are in order- I'll bring the insulation so it stays warm in the winter.

Surge cracked her knuckles, blitzing forward and throwing a punch. Not a speedy one, but a regular one.

“Keep up.”

“What are you talking about-”

Wait, was she doing poorly on purpose…? It would make sense, she would never give her all to appease an order of the doctor…

“Finally catching on? Whatever, just give me all you got!”

Surge pretended to be more injured than she really was. The insane headache she has from that pistol whipping to the noggin was very real, though. Seriously, shit hurt.

“Attagirl, wolfie.”

Whisper kept her Wispon trained on the tenrec as she stood up. Weird, with her speed, Surge could have easily sped over to her and hit her on the way up, but she didn’t.

“You don’t have to do this.”

Surge cracked her knuckles, blitzing forward and throwing a punch. Not a speedy one, but a regular one.

Bang, a shot shattered the bottle in his hand. Once he got over the short moment of shock, Clutch looked over to where the shot rang from.

And a single, cyan eye was in the dark staring right back at him, and a pair of fuchsia eyes above her.

“Take a seat.”

The opossum groaned and wrapped his tail around a new bottle in a near by shelf

“Boys, leave the room, I got some old clients to talk to.”

He waves his paw dismissively at the boys then rests his paws on his cane, he doesn’t sit but he is temporarily complying

“But boss they weren’t apart of the celebration plans”

“Let it go bro, let’s leave.”

The boys left, but not completely, they stand by in the near by room awaiting command

“To what do I owe the pleasure of you coming in here and wasting a bottle of my sweet sweet elixir”

His tail coiled tightly on his new bottle, keeping it behind him, he was not going to have another bottle wasted.

Then, all of a sudden, the lower tails lashed out, grabbing Clutch by the legs and tossing him, roughly, into the largest chair in the room.

The wolf made her intentions for this visit clear. Interrogation.

“And don’t bother calling for the lackeys. They wouldn’t be able to make it in here fast enough anyway.”

Whisper warned as she pulled a chair, sitting across from the opossum.

“His whereabouts, his allies. If you decide to not cooperate…”

“Woah ho ho! Who is to assume I know about whatever you’re speaking of. Are you speaking of that big buffoon?”

He narrowed his eyes at the others,specifically Kit before bringing his cup to his face with, hey wait when he have time to even pour that?? He takes a long sip.

“Truthfully no clue where eggman is, you know him, running around and such. His allies? Didn’t think he had any other than his own lackeys”

The opossum was clearly aware of what they were wanting but he wasn’t going to give up information, though, he is a literal rodent. Surely something would get his attention to cooperate

“But hey Doll, you shouldn’t go around threatening old men who are minding their own business. I just got a business deal I been wanting for the past year and I’d love to go back to celebrating now if you could just… go?”

His eyes locked onto Kit as he sneered

"You know exactly who it is we're looking for." The tail applied pressure, its compressed mass split off into smaller smaller tendrils, each worming their way towards the corners of Clutch's mouth and eyes.

“Even if your preferred method of dying would probably be alcohol poisoning or liver failure, if you decide you don’t want to help us, then you’re just going to have to settle for drowning from the inside and outside.”

“GAHH! Listen I.. I did work with him! I did!!! but not anymore!! I- We aren’t working together this time-“

The opossum gasps for air. His tail desperately wraps around his cane on the ground

“I held a funeral for him and everything! I thought he was dead! I have evidence and footage even of the funeral! He’s dead! I don’t understand why you’re after me!”

“…give him a little air, then do it one more time.”

“Huh..? Wha-“

Fucking moron… my liquor cabinet.. really…

He thought to himself as he got a moment to have air

“Listen you have no reason to believe me but we are no longer business partners. That. That was not of my knowledge.”

He coughs, he was a bit shaky, I mean who wouldn’t after that. He dreaded the kit doing it again

“I will do whatever you need or want of me. But I really don’t know anything as of now. I know nothing of his current situation.”

The boys look into the room from the entrance watching the interaction, they mutter quietly to eachother

“Woah bro, we need to take notes..”

“He’s totally backing down”

“We could have the company to ourselves again!”

“Bro…you’re so right!”

Clutch turns his attention to his lackeys momentarily, before looking back at the other two, still dreading the events that may or may not happen depending on what the do with his words

This moron better save my ass, I’m not dying for him. I mean sure if he was a friend I’d go down fully but of course, nope, we “aren’t”

He thinks to himself before realizing he’s been quiet for awhile. Oh he is so dead isn’t he

"He's the only one Starline could have contacted that didn't already have it out for him. If anyone knows where he's holed up, its him, even if they aren't on speaking terms anymore."

The wolf would nod, keeping her gaze fixed on the camera she had found. Starline was almost certainly listening in to the conversation at hand. She needs to be careful with her words.

Rumble as well as Tumble would walk forward, closer to the others but not to help the boss

“He was here the other night wasn’t he boss?”

“Yeah! Bro, you’re right!”

The opossums eyes widened as his two lackeys out him and his bullshit, he desperately yells with whatever remaining breaths he has

“THE SECRETS OUT ASSHAT! If you’re watching the least you can do is HELP! I am NOT dying for you!”

The skunks watch their boss struggle

“We sure won’t mind”

The room was cast under a red glow as Starline appeared between the camera and Clutch, holding onto the wrist of a familiar Tenrec.

"I never liked those skunks of yours. Ever. Not even when they were mine."

His eyes turned to them.

“SURGE!”

The elation is ground to a halt moment he spots her hand in Starline’s. The pained expression she wears. The way she avoids his eyes. His concentration broken, the opossum’s trachea is momentarily freed from its distress, the watery limb holding him splashing across his front and the floor before him.

“Hey woah! We were just joking!”

“Yeah! Joking! Don’t tie us into this… we were just having some fun!”

“Yeah! What bro said! Honest!”

The opossum stands tall, grabbing his cane with his tail and putting it in his hand. He side eyes Starline.

“Maybe don’t get me into your bullshit, getting me nearly killed! I’m to old for this shit. You were taking your grand old time. Couldn’t have been that busy if you were actively watching and saw I was needing assistance.”

Rough and tumble look at their boss, they knew what they should probably do next they walk off around the room. Tumble grabbing his coat, Rough grabbing him a new bottle and glass. Clutch however doesn’t stop looking at Starline. His expression, his silence, it speaks numbers. He then turns to the kids

“You children, never giving up. Tch.. you call yourselves heroes but you were about to kill. I don’t think that looks good on your part.”

His tail whips around. Once his boys come back he puts his coat on and grabs the bottle, then slowly moves it to his tail, he fidgets with his cane a bit

“Children like you are why I drink. You stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. You already ruined me once. There was no need to come here and nearly killed me. I’m just an old man trying to get back on track in my business world.”

The skunks look at eachother and back at their boss awaiting orders. Clutch nods his head, the boys react by splitting up, Rough goes to the right of the children while Tumble goes on the left. Clutch lifts his cane and points it at Whisper, tempted to fire it right there.

The platypus glared at the skunks, but took a step back when Clutch took control of the situation. He'd only step in if needed, but he would be having a conversation with Clutch.

"We'll talk later, but you should know better than to damage the merchandise, Mr.Businessman."

He put a hand on the cane, lowering it from aiming at Whisper.

Why was she just standing there, letting Starline talk to her like that? Why was she not immediately jumping into action to put him and Clutch in the ground for acting like they have any leg to stand on with everything they had done? To her. To Kit. Even to Whisper and her Restoration friends, for all he cared.

"You... You have no idea what you're talking about."

“Run. She’ll come find ya, Drippy. Just- trust me.”

Once giving that piece of advice to the fennec, Surge swung Whisper and hurled her through a wall, zipping through the hole to seemingly finish her off.

She groaned as she sat up, staring down the tenrec behind her mask as she immediately readied her Wispon. No Dynamo Cage, no problem for her, then.

Bang, a shot shattered the bottle in his hand. Once he got over the short moment of shock, Clutch looked over to where the shot rang from.

And a single, cyan eye was in the dark staring right back at him, and a pair of fuchsia eyes above her.

“Take a seat.”
