Hi, I’m Scoshy!
I’ve been in the gal community for 3 years, and after that time I found a lot of gals, including myself, are frustrated at the lack of spaces for experienced gals, and that the modern gaijin gal community feels stagnant.
Exluce is something I have been wanting to do for a while, to curate modern gal looks and trends more casually and frequently than a magazine but more exclusively than public forums. I hope it could help beginner gals find modern inspiration without trawling through instagram or the misinfo that comes with platforms like pinterest, and bring committed gals together to share modern trends and perspectives.
My motto for Exluce, and for my life as a gal is “We define this era of gyaru together!”
I really believe anyone who is committed to being gal is a vital part of the community. What you do in the community, and in your life, the things you say to other gals, how you look your best, that is all defining this era of the gal community!
At Target this lady told her son he couldn’t have a Wonder Woman doll because “that’s for girls” and then bought her daughter the same one. It got me thinking about how often I see people bar young boys from appreciating girls/women as protagonists and heroes, and my own experience with it as a kid.
i love the linguistic trend of expressing something difficult to describe by just not including an adjective where there usually would be one. “i had a day today,” or “he’s definitely one of the characters of all time.”
it’s like i can’t describe this so i just won’t. you get it tho.
Just learned a drag race France contestant did a three in one Gotham city sirens look!!

all you new fandom members need to QUIET DOWN oh my god you're going to get us KILLED. we're happy to have you but if you keep talking about BULLSHIT like PUBLISHING fanfic for MONEY, Anne Rice is going to come back from the dead to KILL US. looking at YOU, maurauders fans, heated rivalry fans, byler fans...out here giving out interviews to news channels SHUT UP. we're going to have to start setting off firecrackers to keep the rent down.

you don’t need to reinvent yourself this summer; you simply need to return to the things that make you feel most like you

Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.

May I present to you, nationalclothing.org?
It doesn't have everything, but it's still my first source when researching traditional clothing from other cultures.
There's also this resource on historical fashion: Claire’s Historical Fashion Reference & Resources
another addition as far as physical media goes there is the encyclopedia of national dress (that i still need to buy myself bc this kind of thing is super important to my sort of fantasy designing) but yes i do agree i wish there was EVEN MORE documentation on this
