latinoamérica has historically been and continues to be colonized, brutalized, invaded, intervened, pillaged and dismantled by colonizing forces from europe and the usa
it isn't just good ol' plain colonization of ye olden days, it continues to fucking happen, though only sometimes with bombs and ships
the usa has systematically performed and still is performing political and economic measures to continue helping, advocating for, defending and even forcibly setting far-right leaders and governments in latin america to use our land and to get our resources
we are constantly, continuously indebted by leaders they place, support or influence, they handle the media that paints the narrative to people, the debt they put us in, which every fucking far-right pendejo they manage to support and put on government takes back again once any of us is able to repay it keeps us poor, ignorant and lusting for the "dream" they market through amazon and hollywood
a big, a HUGE fucking part of that is to keep us against each other, to make us hate each other but lust for them, to be like them
AND YET
I have to listen to usa alleged leftists calling countries from latin america "colonizers" (of what?????) for how our history turned out, how our diaspora is formed, who our presidents are and how we are perceived from their usa-centric or euro-centric perspective as if they hadn't had a hand ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE THINGS THEY BLAME US FOR
they SET US UP and then they BLAME US for how we try to survive through the bullshit they keep us in
yes, there's a whole lot of issues going on with us and yes the presidents were elected, but maybe recognize that a lot of that is directly linked with things your nations continue to influence today
we can be kind and understanding to the usa folk who didn't vote for trump and be sorry that they're going through it but we are judged by the presidents we have, the fucking alarming rate of right-wing conservative bullshit that is taking over our land, that their powers at be sponsored or manually PLACED there?????
and instead of supporting each other, which is the one thing that can help us here, because the closest we've ever been to emancipate ourselves from this bullshit is when we came together as américa latina as a whole, we are made to hate each other over something as random as fucking fútbol and support our oppressors instead??????
I might get cast out of the english-speaking website for this but I can't let this pass because hearing a usa so-called leftist activist calling latin american countries "colonizing" for the history european colonization put through us and not recognizing the huge impact they continue to have in how we turn out FOR THEIR BENEFIT is making me want to chew glass
if I can recognize that my country is in shambles and voted for the worst possible candidate in the world and try every day to do what I can to go against that, maybe you can find it in yourself to see at least a tiny bit of the stuff you're dealing with too and shut the fuck up before calling any of us on anything you continue to do
