I applied to be a part of two event committees in my university and got rejected from both of them back-to-back 😭 It's really disappointing tbh but I can't do anything but try to improve myself.
It just made me a little confused because I was a pretty active student in highschool. But that must just mean my competitors were out of this world. I mean I am going to the top university in my country so it's pretty understandable that I'm surrounded by people with crazy portfolios but dang I didn't get accepted even once.
The first event committee admitted around 110 out of 170 people, but my interview was pretty sloppy so I understood why I was rejected. After that I really prepared myself for the second interview (30 pages of a gdocs document type prepared), it went significantly better, but I was quite stiff since I prepared myself so formally.
They accepted 70 out of maybe 150 people who applied, it's a lot more competitive but still just as surprising to me that I didn't get accepted. Cause the first division I chose was very relevant with the experience I have, and there was barely any people applying for the second division I chose. But I didn't get accepted into either!!
I applied so I could quickly get to know the working culture there but since I got rejected, I'll either apply for a different committee If they're recruiting, or just settle into campus life and try to improve myself first.
