capitalism is fundamentally a system designed to create scarcity where there wasn't any before
for a while there was a little problem where if someone could own something, they wouldn't need to buy it again - which is obviously very sad and problematic (bad for the economy). with the world-changing discovery of subscription-based billing models, we have entered a glorious new era of infinite purchases forever (good for the economy).
pirates represent an even bigger threat now than ever before - rather than depriving the innocent IP holders of one purchase, these scoundrels are now preventing infinity purchases, stealing an amount of potential future revenue that is truly incalculable because the limit doesn't exist. if you pirate one single movie or album video game, you have pulled off a heist with an effective financial value of literally billions of dollars in perpetuity. modern online criminals put archaic bank or jewelry robbers (with their paltry one-time payoff) to shame.
real talk tho ive seen ppl talk abt how long hair on men isn't intrinsically feminine & assuming so is racist can we get the same convo going for Black women w short hair can we start talking abt how short hair isn't intrinsically masculine or is that a step too far
happy turnabout corner!
It's Juneteenth yall. And I'm not letting this day go unmarked.
Black people fight for everybody. We stand in solidarity with women, lgbt people, poor people all over the world of every skin color and background. Every religion and nationality.
Today, stand with us. Be with us. Tell a black person you love them. Hug a black person (with consent). Ask that hot black girl out today. Make a black person smile. Black lives matter to everybody and you matter to us.
Stand with us on Juneteenth like we stand with you all year round, and I hope a happy Pride month continues for all of us

Art installation idea: "perfectly comfortable chair"
A chair that has blunted spikes sticking out the backrest. When the user weighs over 90kg, their weight on the seat pushes a lever that retracts the spikes, making the chair comfortable to sit on.
Just a little something I came up with from a bus station bench where the gap between the armrests is slightly narrower than I am.
Every year I tell the socials to Give Black People Money for Juneteenth. 2026 ain't about to be different. Give a little, give a lot, give directly, give widely.
Black fam: you are invited to reply to this with your info/links!
How to Give
Directly, if you can, to someone's Venmo, Ko-Fi, PayPal, Patreon, & etc.
Buy their art, books, music, jewelry, zine, or whatever else they create. Again, directly if possible.
Don't have money? I gotchu: Promote the heck out of their creations for the next week.
Check the notes for Black people to give money to if you don't know any personally (or if you do! You might find new, cool people).
Boost this post through the holiday weekend. Boost the Black people you know or find here through the weekend.
I can hear some of you saying: But Tempest, isn't asking for money cringe?
Only if you let it be.
Let's not forget why Juneteenth is a thing. Let's not forget that here in the year of our Lort 2026 there are people in white houses saying the racist parts out loud every day. Money can't solve that or make it better.
It can give a person a spark of joy in dark times. Maybe they'll buy a nice dessert, or go out to eat when they normally couldn't, or pay a bill without having to stress. Maybe they will be so freaking excited someone bought that thing they made!
So, Black people: Ask. Everyone else: Give No shame, no shade.
Fuck it at this point can yβall actually start supporting indie animation and indie games made by black artists/creators because Iβm really getting sick and tired of everyone hyping these racist phase mediocre white people that get 90% of their humor from 2000s newgrounds animations
For the people asking βHow am I supposed to find them?β Look them up, itβs that easy.
Here is an entire youtube playlist by Mannof1000Thoughts with a ton of indie animation videos AND a livestream he did where he watched some with the creators!!!

For games, there are TONS of lists out there like these:
In celebration of Black History Month, here's a roundup of games made by black developers that should be on your radar.
The MIX is celebrating Black game developers by hosting a stream to talk organically about game development from the Black perspective.
And lastly for Comic and stories too!
βπΎ Freedom has always lived in our stories. This Juneteenth, five reads that hit different. Past, present, future. All liberation.

Juneteenth is about Black people who were officially technically supposed to be freed from enslavement. Nobody else. Nothing else. It's not a POC day. It's not a "freedom for all" day. It's Black folk, Black culture, Black emancipation, SPECIFICALLY. Any other observation for Juneteenth is gentrification.
Your Juneteenth reminder that just because they made it a "national holiday," it's still not. It's for the celebration of Black Americans being freed from slavery, finally.
It's from Texas. We been welcoming other descendants of the enslaved. But we close the gate and draw the line with "everybody."
Bringing this back on Juneteenth because making Black observations a national holiday didn't and doesn't end racism and the nonblacks are more insufferable than they have been in my lifetime about Black American people and our things.
Happy Juneteenth to those whose lives would not be actively free without the day happening. See the rest of you tomorrow.

happy Juneteenth to black fans in fandom specifically π«ΆπΏ love yall
Iβm a Black trans man living in the conservative suburbs of Texas without a car or public transportation. I am in need of monetary help with transportation and groceries for the rest of the month as I put my efforts toward securing housing for myself and my cat out of state.
Iβm asking $200 toward transportation (I use rideshare services) and $100 toward groceries. $300 total; everything helps tremendously. Thank you!
