WHEEEEEZE GOOD LORD I’VE FINALLY FINISHED. Art trade/project with a classmate! We were meant to swap and colour each others I think but we..both… just… kinda kept going lmaoooo :3c My ipad hates me for this, every night it was a battle of the battery life. There are so many references in this, one day I’ll come back and list them unless someone beats me to it lmao. Also one of my teachers said I have a knack for fine little storytelling details so now I do it all time time to try and hide how my colouring and rendering technique is just to vomit shades and layers orz I took some liberties with Hordak and Imp’s outfits as I wanted this to be post-season 5! The designs are based on the space wear we saw in the final season, Wrong!Hordak’s outfit (as we saw in the Krytis ep it was suitable for space travel/alien planets) all whilst using Entrapta’s colour palettes. Other than this my inspo was Alfonse Mucha and space ofc! I think Imp would love zero gravity o/ I think I might try and make this into a print, though it’ll probably need some tidying up first. I wanna see if I can make an acrylic stand too one day~

I love She-ra because I love how the story is so high stakes but the characters are way more worried about low stakes shit.

Catra wages a war against Adora because she feels betrayed that Adora would ever break their childhood promise, and she wants the approval of her shitty mother. Catra has been tortured and electrocuted by Shadow Weaver, and that hurts, but she is way more hurt by Shadow Weaver always preferring Adora and loving Adora more than her.

Catra gets tortured by Hordak and that's awful and she spends the season terrified of him but she's way more bothered by how Hordak trusts someone else and doesn't trust her. It is more rejection to her.

The portal incident? Well, Catra blew up a giant bomb that destroyed the world and that caused a lot more problems. Catra is way more guilty about losing Adora's faith and betraying Entrapta than she is about blowing up the world. And she's not even guilty about the sending Entrapta to die part. She is far more guilty about the act of betraying a friend who believed in her, which is her greatest grievance that caused her to turn against Adora.

... Entrapta is in agreement, and also way more bothered about being abandoned by a friend than she is about being sent to an island that kills you. This doesn't even register to her as a factor. Life and death are not priorities to these characters. Promises are the most important thing in the world!

They are crazy.
