The phone is propped against a water bottle on the patio table and has fallen over twice already.
“Okay,” Cas says, again, for the fourth time.
He picks up the phone, adjusts the angle, and steps back to check the frame.
August is visible in the screen’s preview: arms crossed, one hip cocked, expression approaching clinical. The wind blows his hair and leaves rustle behind him.
“From the top,” Cas says.
“That’s my line.”
“I’m saying it.”
August uncrosses his arms.
The song starts — that glassy, weightless drop — and for approximately two seconds they are both doing the right thing at the right time, arms rising in loose unison, weight shifting.
Then Cas misses a beat, *barely*, and August throws his arms in the air in frustration.
“*Pay attention*,” August says, snapping to the beat. “It’s five, six, seven, eight.” He demonstrates the moves.
Cas glares. He knows the moves.
He goes back to the phone. Resets. August watches him with the particular quality of silence that means he is composing a sentence he will not say out loud. The song queues up again, the little countdown ticking in the corner of the screen.
“Don’t fuck up this time,” August says.
“You don’t fuck up this time,” Cas hisses. He elbows him.
August slaps him back just before the song drops.
This time Cas gets through the arm sequence clean, pulls off the freeze with his whole chest, chin lifted, like he knows exactly how good he looks frozen mid-motion.
August glances over — involuntary, half a second — and misses his cue entirely.
Cas grins. “You—“
“Shut up.”
“You looked at me,” he finishes, triumphant and stubborn.
“I’m aware.”
Cas is already grinning, which is the worst possible thing he could be doing. August turns back to the phone. The preview shows both of them: Cas still in the pose, still pleased with himself, and August beside him with an expression that could charitably be described as actively suppressing something.
“Again,” August says, not looking at him.
“Again,” Cas agrees, and does not stop grinning.

I've seen the photos of this fullset a few times and I always thought that he reminded me of Snufkin. So when a friend sold theirs, I went with it. For a while I kept calling him Snufkin, which isn't a good idea, because joke names tend to stick. I'm glad I could find a different name though.
He's my wandering apothecary, collecting herbs and other remedies. And one day™ I'll finish his suitcase with bottles and stuff, too.
I sometimes think about redoing hiss face, because I'm not so happy about how the beard turned out, but that's a general problem with painted on beards lol. He does have a babyface though, so I tried to give him SOMETHING that makes him look a bit more mature ^^'
Somewhere along the way he found a little wolf pup and nursed it back to health. I'm still undecided on whether he would give the wolf a name, or just actually call it "wolf" of "pup"...
This was her first fairy look, for a renaissance faire. We had so much fun chasing down big fairies and taking pictures with them!
I made her wig out of Mermaze Jordie's microbraids. It's not perfect, but I'm very happy with it as a novice wig maker!
I decided we could do better though, for our next faire. So I've been adding shinys to her hair, and jewelry. Sewing progress on beads:

The headpiece is a metal necklace, which sticks to her head magnets. She has seed beads, gems, bugle beads, and Christmas lightbulbs in her hair. Bracelets, anklets, necklace, and belt are all made out of thrifted jewelry that I took apart and repurposed.

Decided to take some Twin photos of Eva 1 and 2 before wiping v1 ♥

It's interesting to see them next to each other. New moe seems to be a bit smaller? I need to have a closer look at that.
V2 Eva looks a bit younger again, and also a tiny bit boy-ish, I think? She didn't get the darker eyeliner, to emphasise the white lashes look, but I guess it makes her eyes look more narrow?
But I can't say I don't love her. It's just a slightly different vibe. A bit less soft, I think? idk. Still Eva, still cute, still my number one.
Hung out with my dolls some earlier! Someone reached out to me on Instagram about the M-Doll School G01 Body and how it compares to Minifees, so I took some photos and a quick video demonstrating the body’s ability to hold poses! Afterwards, I wound up taking my Minifee Erda hybrid (on the For Your Doll Lamb Body) out to see them next to my Moeline Chloe. Then I took some photos of Juni and ChuChu since they’re both J-Fashion dolls! They’re also my top two favorite dolls in my collection ^_^! Then, last but not least, I took a photo of Juni, Abe, and Wolf together! They’re all 1/4 Muhan’s Doll dolls ^_^!!! It’s fun to see the similarities and differences between their sculpts. Juni and Wolf are brothers and I think of Abe as their cousin. I think they’re so cute next to each other! This weekend, I’m going out with my partner and a friend and I’m thinking of bringing Dani with me to get some photos of him outside! I’m not sure if the weather will permit it though, it’s been very rainy.

I've removed part of his fullset outfit that were cumbersome and styled his wig and I'm trying something with extra (non glued) magnet for his ears and he's... Fine. Pretty, even.
And in a weird way, I think that 'ruining' him might save him for me. From the moment I got this doll, it was clear that the extensive full body blush was a little delicate, so I didn't touch him much, especially combined with the not-strong-enough-for-resin-weight magnets in the ears and especially his tail. But now I'm giving up on using the tail, and part of the blushing was throughly ruined, and... Well, nowI have nothing to fear, you know? The worst that could happen has already happened. He is no longer pristine and looking fresh out of the box.
The lessons from this for me are: 1. Don't buy dolls where engineering relies on magnet for anything heavier than a hand (and even hands are on thin ice) 2. Don't get fullset because my dolls aren't display dolls, I like to play with them and take them outside, and if I have to worry about 'ruining' them I just can't enjoy them.

Yes, they expect this tail to be held with that magnet. And yes it has no magnet on the body. So the expectation is what? To fix a magnet on the body with putty?
Let me tell you it does not work, and it has ruined that body/tail for me too because it's so fragile to get to hold for even one second to take a good photo.

Oh that is an insane level of bad engineering😱😱 at least dream valley put a magnet inside the body for the tail, even if neither it nor the tail magnet are strong enough.
(meanwhile, I have a resinsoul centaur with a magnetic, solid resin tail, and that thing does not move. Even with layers of fabrics between the body and tail, it doesn't budge. I don't know where resinsoul gets its magnet, but other companies could learn from them😓)
