An early attempt to figure out what was off about this dress pattern resulted in something too small for Barbie, but perfect for Naturalistas

Spent some time with my dolls today! So I took lots of miscellaneous photos. The first two (in the pink and green) are my two Harucasting dolls! In the pink is my Harucasting Vitiligo Neul and in the green is my Harucasting Ade (Adeline). In the next photo with Neul is my Usatsugi Doll Chuchu on the Yemaozi Moon Body (in the pink) and my Muhan’s Doll Abe on the Asleep Eidolon MianMian Body (in the black). In the second row is my Muhan’s Doll Puppy on the DF-H 1/4 Slim Boy Body (Juni, in the blue) and my Minifee Moe Line Chloe (Vivienne, in the white). Finally, in the pictures with Juni is my Simply Meant To Be Dohwee (Dani)! This isn’t my full collection, as I have quite a few floating heads and unfinished dolls, but these are all the dolls I consider complete :D! I really love all of my dolls so much!

Well my Rasendou Touya is in one piece, for the first time in a very long time! I think someone could work on her for one hundred more hours, fixing bubbles, perfecting joint shapes, covering her flaws, but for now she is the best she's ever been. I quickly printed some new hip and knee joints so she has a little bit more function.

For now, I'll enjoy my 'new' doll and move on to another project!

CURRENTLY THINKING OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE DOLLS!!!

I got this girl back in march and she was one of my most anticipated dolls! I spent awhile gathering my thoughts on her and I can say that she’s definitely one of my favorite dolls in my collection! The second that I saw her i loveddd her design, but after seeing her in person that feeling grew and I’m just beyond happy to have her! From my perspective Mahiru has a very gentle and sweet personality. But at times she can be lost in her own thoughts. She reminds me a bit of Madoka from Madoka Magica, but I think it’s mostly the hair color😭 Unlike Saki I don’t have many complaints about Mahiru. I only have two. The first is that some of her bows were glued on and it’s pretty obvious. When I first opened her I had to cut a bunch of dried strings of adhesive off of her dress, it was a bit annoying. She also had a bunch of loose threads on her dress that I had to trim down. The second issue I have with Mahiru is an issue that I also have with Saki and it’s that her stringing isnt’t the best. Her arms struggle to hold poses and her legs are super tight so they’re pretty kicky. It’s a bit annoying when I’m trying to pose her to take pictures of her. Despite that I love her design and overall I’m super happy to have her. She’s very quickly become one of my favorite dolls! I have no interest in redressing her just yet, but I was thinking about fixing up her hair a bit. I love the original style, but I’m not a huge fan of how her hair sits. It’s curly so it gets tangled super easy and it’s pretty frizzy. I have other dolls with curly hair that I’ve been able to manage, but her hair refuses to cooperate. I have no clue what type of hair she has since in general I’m pretty bad at identifying doll hair and it feels a bit different from the other dolls in my collection. But I was hoping to tame the ends a bit somehow. I was thinking maybe a minor boil wash but i wouldn’t want to melt her hair😭 Hopefully I can get her ends to settle a bit! Mahiru and Saki arrived together so I’ve been displaying them together and they’re just so precious! I think at some point I’ll take some pictures of them together, it’d be super cute.

My Muhan’s Doll Little Wolf’s wig and eyes came in! I’m really so excited to get him all put together! I bought him the DF-H 1/4 Boy Body Ver. 5 as Juni, my Muhan’s Doll Puppy, is on the DF-H 1/4 Slim Boy Body. Both of them were bought through Space Studio BJD and were painted by the artist Painting Machine, who I commissioned through Space Studio as well!

i'll hopefully be printing a green apple version soon, because there are some styling & faceup choices i want to try with this sculpt. also i couldn't decide what to do with her mouth, so version 1.0 is mouthless, but i want to give the next one a cute grin.

Medieval fem au Psycho Mantis is done!!! It took me more time this time to make her, but mostly because I was lazy + double hip joints are hard to make... anyway!! I learned a lot so princess Liquid will be easier to make (I hope)

I took these photos this morning. I recently knitted this sweater and sewed the skirt yesterday. I will knit her something more summery soon, although this is the outfit I wear when I go out, it's really not very hot here.

The Mccalls 6393 pattern piece guide scanned by @dollsahoy (thank you!), in the vintage inspiration fabric!

Managed a good pattern match down the center front seam! These mushrooms would be too difficult to completely show in any of my other patterns (I tend to form fitting and gathers that obscure), so this broad real estate center front is helpful as heck.

I used lace to turn the edges instead of facing the top. I had vaguely thought it would keep things thinner and let it gather easier into the scrunchie tubes. Not sure that turned out to be correct but it works.

It's so cute 🥹 I'm very very pleased with this sort of collaboration. It helped me out of a rough rut to be nudged in a fun direction.

It was hard to think of shoes to go with this and all night I was turning it over back of my mind. Finally today I realized, when in doubt, slap skates on there. Never fails me 😆

I imagine I will use this pattern again. I have a mighty need to pair it with a crocheted cardigan.
