Philippa Georgiou

   In her short time being Killy she had found out 2 things, 1 she was not good at being high and 2 she was extraordinarily good at fooling everyone into thinking she was Killy - which frightened her a little. Of course without Michael’s help she would have been a babbling mess on the floor but she pulled it off - for longer than she thought would have been needed and damn it a weird part of her liked having that much power. 

   Pretended to be nice well - that was certainly something that she liked doing - although most of the time she didn’t pretend - and because she was nice she did end up getting told a lot of information an ensign probably shouldn’t know – perhaps she was more like Killy than she thought - perhaps they all were… after all Lorca was able to live in their universe for years before he showed his true colours… “Earned? As in we - we served you…?” she questioned, blinking slightly as the woman got closer, a nervous laugh escaping her at the others words. 

   “Well considering that Enterprise is the newest model and she is equipped with a lot of crazy things I would have to say that Pike probably was - but because of what you just did there with the whole leaning in thing - I kinda thing it was me - or well I mean - her but um - yeah - did Disco still have the spore drive? Or was it just used to um - on your ship?” 

Philippa laughed, something she didn’t allow herself to do often. It was only when she was around someone who knew who she really was that she could let go, and Tilly was well aware. The girl was so much fun to tease.

“Oh Tilly, not everything is about sex! No one earned their ships from time spent in my bed—or anywhere else—they served the Empire. They didn’t betray me. They thought for themselves and got things done.” It was amusing how the people of the Federation thought everyone in the Terran Empire either screwed or knifed their way through the ranks. “Dedication. Intelligence. Loyalty. Those things mattered there just as they did here.”

   It was strange for Tilly to think about Killy - that other universe was so different and yet so like theirs. There was something so twisted about knowing that in another world she was capable of doing such horrible things - in this world she hated if she by accident killed some innocent bug on some planet that they were walking through, but there - oh god there she had killed so many beings - and enjoyed it… that’s why she was asking, she wanted to know how to avoid ever being like that - not that she thought she could be, not here… but if something happened, if something took her over - would she be able to be like Killy?     Tilly blinked at the woman’s response. She hadn’t been expecting anything let alone knowing that she was loyal to the emperor and the only person that was more was Pike… that news stunned her too - of course it shouldn’t, if there was two of her why wouldn’t there be two of Pike? Two of everyone. “Really?” she managed out, her eyes widening slightly. “What - what made me loyal? Like cause I would like to think I’m quite loyal now - but if someone told me to kill someone like I couldn’t do that…” 

Philippa always found it amusing either they thought all they did in her universe was fuck and kill. They did other things—of course—it was just that they were fond of those two. She knew she was, but one did not become Emperor if you spent all your time on your back or drenched in blood. Strategy was required. Knowing when to strike and more importantly when not to mattered.

“You did as you were told. You were very good at pretending to be nice and getting me information I needed. No one would ever believe Michael was working against me.” Even though she was. “They assumed that I blindly trusted you and you felt the same about me. You earned Discovery just as Christopher earned Enterprise.”

He didn’t bother rising to any of her bait- she thought she was queen of this castle?  Fine, it didn’t bother Leland in the bit.  One didn’t have to wear the crown and it tended to be safer where people looked over you.  Let her think whatever she wanted about him, all he needed from her was her mind.  She’d been the Emperor where she came from and that, that was something Leland could use.  And he would use it, right up until he couldn’t anymore.  And then he’d dispose of her, whether literally or just shuffling her off someplace where she couldn’t get to him.  Back to Qo’nos maybe.  

“I’m worried about Lt. Commander Spock,”  Leland started with, figuring the best way to deal with Philippa was let her work towards her own goals which he had clearly stated don’t interact with his at all.  “While he seems better, I’m worried and would like to keep a closer eye on him.  Since you’ve had so much success with Ash, perhaps you’d like to give a crack at him?”  If it was up to Leland, he’d play off the fact his mind was recently manipulated and that he couldn’t be trusted, but he was curious as to what, if anything, Georgiou would suggest.  

“I think it’d be best if we managed to keep Mr. Spock away from his sister,” Leland continued, “lest she put herself in more danger for him.  She seems to have quite the self-sacrificing streak and it’d be a shame to see Starfleet lose another fine officer.”  His reasons for wanting Burnham safe were a bit selfish, but oh, well.  It happened to align with Georgiou’s interests, so this little indulgence of his could be fostered for now.

She couldn’t hold back a tilt of her head. Hadn’t he been alerted of what happened? It was a shock, and if this was her ship, heads would roll. But of course, if it was her ship, Michael and Spock would have had no need to escape, because she’d take care of both of them. They’d be her weapons to use as they’d been in her universe.

“Leland, I’m afraid I don’t understand. Didn’t you see that they’ve escaped? Or are you assuming we will be able to find them before they get to Discovery?” That almost made sense. They might not have the spore drive, but their ship was faster than anything else Starfleet had. She was rather fond of the sleek black raptor.

She’d been watching them from the shadows. Seeing which of her fosters had potential and which did not. Not that any of them would go to waste. They all served at least one purpose for the Emperor. Her fosterlings were all hostages. As long as she held their eldest children, her lords, admirals, and governors would not dare to turn against her. And the ones with potential could be trained to replace their parents as a loyal army to defend the Terran Empire.

Her eyes narrowed as Michael, the orphan she’d chosen to adopt, brought up her blade just in time to keep the lanky half-breed Vulcan from removing her head with his own sword. Spock was so fast, and she cared about him almost as much as she did her daughter. It didn’t hurt that the boy was ruthless. His logic gave him a tongue as sharp as the blades he wore, and he’d go far in Starfleet. Philippa couldn’t wait to see how he turned out once he went through the Academy.

“Go shower, Michael. I want to spend some time with your brother, Spock.” When their sparring practice was over, she stepped onto the field. The sunlight reflecting like a nova off her golden body armor. She’d taken him under her wing when Michael took a shine to him that matched her own, and she was very fond of Spock’s mother. His father, was a faithful operative of hers for Section 31 as well. It was only right that she care for him like he was her own.

“Walk with me, Spock. I want to hear about your plans for the future.” Georgiou left her long coat with one of her Kelpian slaves and began to walk with the boy. He was taller than she was now with long legs and a straight back. He was beautiful.
