I manage it from another computer, I update it from another computer, I use it from another computer.

It has 3 cables connected: Ethernet, power, drives

My watch has an OS, and its not nearly as powerful as most smart watches. It has 512KB flash, 4MB ROM, and 64KB RAM. Runs fine, does all I need it to do. It does not have space or power to run age verification.

So many things have an OS

Fridge, thermostat, camera, watch, lights, locks, Roku, router, modem, phone, PC, headphone

If it has more functions than simple on/off then it's more likely than not it has an OS.

So, with their misunderstanding and broad language, how will they enforce this for your headphones?

Simple answer is they can't, more complex answer is they'll need to more clearly define their language.

Microsoft to Linux because AI and vibe coding a crucial work tool. Smartphones to dumb phones or custom ROMs for privacy and security. Subscription to ownership so we own the media and not just a license to enjoy it at the company's discretion.

For me, it's SkullCandy to Creative Labs.

I have a $350 paperweight sitting in a box next to my computer because:

Warranty is out

headphones wont charge

noise cancelling does the opposite now

ear cushions are eroded away

won't even work as a 3.5mm plug in wired headset at all

no manufacturer replacement parts

I'm moving to Creative Labs because:

I've used their much older products from the mid 2000's (unfortunately they don't make MP3 players anymore)

only problems were from my own actions (intentional or not, but could still place blame entirely on me)

They've been in the sound game for a long time

prices are ~1/2 that of SkullCandy for the same, if not more, features

Product categories on their website proudly puts replacement parts next to their headphones, speakers, cards, and accessories and not down some product support web rabbit hole

The warranty is not as long, but I'll take a shorter warranty for being able to work on my own stuff for less money and a company I've respected since before SkullCandy was even a thing.

Crying is a very healthy thing to do yet so many people think it's some whiny bitch thing to do.

Let me briefly go over my emotional health in the past. I used to never cry, or at least not that I remembered, but you know what I did more of? Hate, rage, anger, and especially over minute things that didn't deserve that approach.

These days I make sure, at minimum, I cry once a month. I have more emotional stability, empathy, and nuanced approaches to things. I feel better after I cry because we need to cry to regulate emotions.

Sometimes it's hard, so I'll watch a show or movie or listen to a song or story I know will drive me to cry when it's been too long. I feel much better after crying, sure it doesn't feel great to cry, and it's, wrongly, seen as a "little bitch" thing to do, but the truth is:

It isn't beer, big trucks, trad wives, and maga. It was never that. It's equality, sustainability, self reliance, community, workers, anti-cop, and anti-fascist.

The beer is more a symbol of the result of workers rights giving us the time to relax and not just work 24/7 until we die.

The truck is only as big as it needs to be and it's covered in dirt, hay, grease, and likely a couple hundred thousand miles out of warranty.

No trad wives without the women wanting to do that themselves. White, black, Latino, man, woman, nonbinary, all are in the working class and so all deserve the same rights.

As for maga? That's 100% antithetical to rednecks. Fascist, cop loving, bootlickers that will sooner strike out the first amendment than defend it just because some words hurt their feelings (that they said referring to someone they don't agree with previously).

Moonshining, pot growing, and getting small town justice wasn't about sundown towns, it's about driving out corporate overlords, klan members, and government that trample on the rights that keep us safe.

The battle of Blair Mountain is the largest documented redneck action to get out of slavery wages, company towns, and corporate bribed cops to keep the company's version of a status quo.

Redneck comes from wearing red handkerchiefs around the necks to show support of the union, not just sunburnt necks from working in fields.

These pavement princess, fascist loving, women hating, word hurt feefees, cop backing, corporate suckups are not and will never be true rednecks.

We're not all blue collar either. The ethos is to live within your means with rights, have good pay, and time off for everyone.

It will be a long journey, so don't you dare stop. Caring for yourself isn't stopping, but dying is. Somewhere I will fail and the trail will end, so keep going. Go faster, farther, higher, deeper, in space, time, art, literature, resistance, politics, and love.

You will fail too, and someone else will pick up after you too, I'd hate for my journey to be the end of you. That's why I want you to go further, because I'm picking up after someone else too and going further than them. I may not know them and may never know them, but there's at least one person I'm going further than and I don't want you to fall short of me.

I won't be stopping anytime soon, so you'll have plenty to do, plenty to discover, and plenty to improve. You won't do it all better than me, just as I won't for whoever I'm picking up after, but you'll always do something better.

I've heard of it for many tech things, but Bluetooth is one I specifically learned about.

Clear music, shitty call? Decent music streaming protocol, old single ear version for headset since it has to switch to headset from headphone when you get a call while listening to music.

Bluetooth 5.1,2,3,4? 6?

Meaningless without the protocol versions. It's like saying quad core to explain a CPU. Is it a 20 year old Xeon or is it a closer year Intel i5 or AMD one?
