So im like a huge Captain America fan right?? Last summer I would rewatch the trilogy over and over again, I read all the comics starting from the 2000s, and I've got loads of merch for it just in my room and on my bags.
I love Steve Rogers, I love Sam Wilson, I love Bucky Barnes
...I get so extremely pissed whenever I think about Avengers Doomsday bringing back Steve..
Genuinely, when the leaks of the Steve teaser came out all those months ago, I was SEETHING.
Im my mind, first thing, is "What about Sam?" Now I am aware that Steve and Sam have already been Captain America together in the comics and I quite enjoyed that, and the thing is we don't even know if Steve will be Captain America in Doomsday. No, no what upsets me really is the audience reception to this.
It's such obvious nostalgia bait. The MCU, has so many new stories and heroes to explore and properly develop (Kate Bishop, Shuri, Shang Chi, Kamala, Ironheart, ect) and what do they do?? They bring in Chris and Robert again despite the fact that their time at marvel has BEEN over (what if doesn't count). The MCU does this KNOWING that bringing back Steve will give people even more of an excuse to hate on Sam, who already has an uphill struggle in canon for the same fucking reasons as real life.
And im sorry, but Doomsday is already cluttered with bringing back the X-Men and F4 to have all the inevitable plot drama Steve will bring about with Sam and Bucky alike, because again, his story has BEEN done with, (which I know a lot of people didn't like his ending in Endgame, but either way it was very final), with both Sam and Bucky having already moved on from Steve.
Genuinely, I love Steve so fucking much, but I just hate how he's being brought back for Doomsday ://
I have been someone who hasn't really gotten the same Marvel fatigue as everyone else, having enjoyed a majority of the films to come out after Endgame despite there being a bit of a quality dip, but I think I finally know how it feels like.
