Sometimes i find a whole new flavor of discourse on this site and it feels like getting hit with one bajillion hammers to the skull at the same time by every side of the argument and then i remember why i never post here and then i go back to talking to my friends and nobody else

If you’re gonna be self conscious enough to pre-emptively declare your actions as “stupid” or “silly” or the like before you even do it, you better at least go into it with full fucking confidence. “Ohh my god I’m so cringe! Don’t look at me that was so bad!” If you’ve already apologized there is no need to make your joy into more apologies!! If you say sorry before you speak and cut yourself off before you’re done with more self-flagellating then you have said nothing and apologized for nothing. Pour your heart out and be sorry only once, and only because the warmth of your passion might singe someone who is unprepared

Man. I haven’t touched the Firmament storyline since completing chapter 3 after it came out and absolutely nothing about what’s come up since then has enticed me to give it another go in spite of the incomprehensible prose and meaningless choices… BUT. I’ve heard talk of the Dawn Machine and Railway and even something regarding The High Wilderness potentially(?) coming in with the recent chapter. Can someone help me confirm if this ties back to older lore (especially Dawn Machine if I can learn more about that glorious nightmare I’d LOVE to see it, Tatterdemalion being an obvious ex-sequencer is consistently so almost close enough to get me to slog through another chapter) because if it does I’ll finally get back on that grind
