Quillis passed away peacefully on April 17, 2017. She was 3 ½. We made the difficult decision to have her put down to avoid prolonging her suffering under WHS. It is a heartbreaking disease. We took her out one last time to her favorite grassy area so that she could play to her heart’s content before the end.
I want to thank everyone who has ever supported this blog. I started it as a way to spend more time with Quillis outside and it has really blossomed. She even reached 1000+ followers. You have no idea how much it helps my grieving to know that there are so many people who cared about her.
I will post what photos I have left when we are feeling better but right now it’s too hard.Â
That being said, if you want to say something for Quillis or discuss WHS or anything else, you can send me a message here or on my main blog (linked on this page).
I guess you haven’t posted any photos your left since Quillis passed away. My Momo passed away a year after yours. I wonder how I would be like a year after living without her. I am in grief and wandering around the blog that I once followed. I hope you are doing well. I am very sorry for your loss, and my loss.  For now, it just too hard for me. I miss her very much.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am doing much better now. Every now and then something small like going into the crawlspace and seeing her cage in the dark will have me feeling heartache for hours. Or slightly intrusive memories of worse moments in her end of life care will come up and I have to fight tears.
It took me at least 6 months and the distraction of health issues to get over her. It's important to let yourself grieve as much as you need to. It's the only way to become as okay as you can be after the loss of a companion.
I want you to know that you can always reach out to me either through this blog or my personal one (linked through her blog). Sometimes having someone who understands the huge impact these small creatures make on our lives can be helpful.
All the best to you in your recovery. My heart goes out to you.
