⭑ TELEKINESIS: moving and manipulating things solely by strength of mind, the most prominent of her powers. she has the most understanding and control over this, and it lends naturally to the rest of her skills.                         - such as biokinesis, technopathy, and levitation ⭑ EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION: unlike telekinesis, jane needs an environment to be just right in order to access this ability. while in the care of hnl, the lengths needed to be taken for jane to achieve this were fairly but as her powers develop the most she needs is a blind fold and silence (though white noise is preferable). being in this state allows her to do the following:                         - telepathy, memory reading, and remote viewing throughout the use of any of these powers, jane is mentally transported to the void. it’s here that the target(s) of her attentions are presented, removed from the majority of their surroundings. this allows her to ‘spy’ on conversations or situations and even communicate with them mentally or peer into their memories. ⭑ PORTAL MANIPULATION / DIMENSIONAL TRAVEL: discovered by mistake when jane initially opened the gate in an emotional response to first seeing the demogorgon in the void. jane can open or close these portals as well as make them larger. while anyone can go through these portals once opened, only she and the demogorgon are shown to be able to open them. ⭑ PSYCHOMETRY: similar to her memory reading while in the void but without needing to do so, jane can touch an object and learn it’s history or discern information regarding it.

             [      wouldn’t  you  say  dreams  are  just  memories?     ]     oftentimes  there  would  be  smudged  colors,     like  a  painter’s  canvas     —-     but  everyone’s  dreams  are  different.       and  each  time,     it  feels  similar  to  falling  through  open  air,     suspended  for  a  moment  before  she  passes  through.      and  here,    there’s  nothing,      the  pitch  -  black  backdrop  is  almost  oppressive,       stifling  in  its  perpetuity.     abra  continues  on,      barefoot  ‘mong  the  gathered  water,      and  it’s  lukewarm  to  the  touch.     uncertain  of  just  how  long  she  walks,     [    how  could  you  possibly  keep  track  of  time  in  others’  dreamscapes?     ]      clarity  and  lucidity  is  a  straining  task,      the  black  mass  is  its  own  lullaby,     and  she’s  tempted  at  the  notion  to  rest.

         until   she  sees  a  girl.

         familiar  to  not  herself,     but  distant  instances  of  michael  wheeler,      through  his  own  eyes   that  have  perceived  umber  curls  of  hair  and  sun  -  shied  complexion,     she  is  jane.       dread  envelops  at  her  chest,    tangible,      abra  is  trapped  ‘neath  the  lead  -  stare  of  another.     ❝     i  don’t  know  where  to  go    …    do  you  know  the  way  out  of  here?      ❞

pitch    void    weaved    throughout    the    subconscious    &    often    times    transformed    the    threatening    uncertainties    of    her    sleeping    hours    into    its    nebulous    abyss.      there    was    no    active    reality    to    bookend    the    pitiful,    plight  -  less    journey    (    no    one    figure    or    form    to    focus    upon,    no    true    goal    in    sight    )    &    the    burden    of    its    silence    scraped    her    nerves    raw.    there    was    only    jane    &    the    echo    of    bare    feet    on    mercurial    surface.          until    jagged    awareness    clues    in    on    alien    company    too    strong    in    presence    to    be    a    figment    of    slumbering    mind.    soft,    fawn  -  like    countenance    hardens    at    the    core    :    vigilance    drawing    along    diminutive    frame    like    a    slow    freeze.           ❛❛  no. ❜❜        monosyllable    stalls    militaristic    assessment.    the    girl    was    smaller,      more    uncertain    ---    STIFF  WITH  DREAD    :    unwanted    in    the    smothering    hush     ---    but    not    innocuous,    the    potential    for    something    menacing    drilled    in    to    the    very    root    of    her    visitation.             ❛❛  why  are  you  here. ❜❜

HE    STIRS,      DRAWN   BACK   FROM   BREWING   TALE   ;        the   rapid   scratch   of   the   graphit   comes   to   a   pause,       hand    itching   to   print   the   indelible   images   relayed   in   his    mind.           ❝         yeah.     it’s   a   story                i   got   the   idea   last   night   while   i   was   going   through   some   of   the   old   boxes   in   our   basement.      ❞                obsidian   eyes   flit   toward   the   rosy - cheeked   jane,       michael’s  mouth   chapped   mouth   ornamented   by   a   slight   bevel.

❛❛ A  BEAST. ❜❜         jane    repeats    the    short    syllables    with    mild    urgency    :    the    word    is    bulky,    rounded    at    the    edges,    filling    mouth    with    the    faint    metallic    tinge    of    implied    danger.    wide    eyes    flicker    from    boy  -  author    to    his    eager    scribblings    &    back    again,   the    pale    pink    of    pressed    lips    tilting    into    a    pleasant    curl.            ❛❛ is  there  a  good  guy  ?  to  fight  the  beast  ? ❜❜           with    childish    interest,    she    leans    forward    to    try    &    make    sense    of    each    dented,    lopsided    letter    embedded    on    thin    page.          ❛❛ can  you  get  the  memories  back  ? ❜❜
