Tales Untold
A series of photos found during the clearing of the attic of the place I once called home. Unrecognized faces that are connected to mine through ancestry. Or are they?
Cyanotypes in process

A climb, a passage, A walk and a trek. Choices, a journey And only blissful times ahead. A heart that beats for such Moments in a lifetime Never knows of forlorn feelings That yearn attachment of mankind.

The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, now a church, in Rome, Italy, on the site of an earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus. It was completed by the emperor Hadrian and probably dedicated about 126 AD. The bronze decoration of the Pantheon has been gradually stripped away over the centuries for use elsewhere.
This is a part of a series I am working on dealing with the world’s Art History Timeline. More such posts coming soon.

There might be days for many when simple scenic views become more common to be seen on television rather than in reality. But as my mother sat staring out the wide window in our living room, I couldn’t help but think of the luscious green fields outside the window of our suburban home and the setting sun to be a source of entertainment and relaxation for her. You see, we have had no television since about 8 years now and hence find our entertainment in the simpler things that we are surrounded by. Long walks around the green pastures across our house and gazing up at stars on no-Moon days are the most common ones. Grateful for the choices my parents made of living amongst such greenery, I hope for many to get closer to nature in their own little ways.

The Ishtar Gate was the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon. It was constructed in about 575 BCE by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II on the north side of the city. It was excavated in the early 20th century, and a reconstruction using original bricks, completed in 1930, The front of the gate has a low-relief sculpted design with a repeated pattern of images of two of the major gods of the Babylonian pantheon. Marduk, the national deity and chief god, is depicted as a dragon with a snake-like head and tail, a scaled body of a lion, and powerful talons for back feet. Marduk was seen as the divine champion of good against evil, and the incantations of the Babylonians often sought his protection.

The Gate of Ishtar is now shown in Berlin’s Pergamon Museum.
Lethal Beauty I
-the first half of a two-part photoshoot
A series of photos that I had taken on Manual focus from my Nikon 3200 to practice portrait photography from my 50mm 1.8d prime lens. Despite the ever-changing evening light, I had a great experience with this shoot. This impromptu photo session was a practice session for me but by the end of it, I looked at portrait photography in a completely new light. I could genuinely say that I could see myself grasping control of the manual focus and the aperture as the evening went by. In the process of this unplanned event unfolding, I simply fell in love with portrait photography.

Talk to the person sitting alone. Hug a crying child. Say hello to a stranger. Call a friend having a hard time. Take a moment to do something for someone else. Love each other better. Kindness can cause a ripple effect. And small gestures can create a very big change. I’m living proof.
