Okay getting woo woo on main.

I applied and interviewed for a job and I want it. I feel like it’s a logical next step in my career, I feel qualified for it, I felt affirmed during the interview, I think I’d do great at it, it’s on my Jupiter line and my boyfriend wants to move back to that part of the country, I’ve had dreams about it, etc.

I’ve applied to similar jobs, but after getting ghosted repeatedly I reached out to someone who’s job I would want and she said this job type would be good for entry level into what I want to build up to down the line. And also it’s like a small school in like the suburbs of the suburbs. Idk who else is applying, but I think they should give me a shot.

It reminded me of like Pocahontas, Strange World, and Frozen 2. Pocahontas obviously because of the grandmother and caring for the environment. Strange World because of the need to protect nature. And Frozen 2 because of the dam breakage.

It also made me think of the Princess and the Frog because the three people of color spent a lot of time in animal bodies.

As someone who has worked in environmental advocacy for like 8+ years, I thought it was a good portrayal of the fights, the feeling like no one cares, how not to organize, how we have to have conversations with people in power, etc. I thought the power mapping was good and showed the process of getting up to the decision makers.

I thought it was also a good explainer of like how extractive organizing can be to get to a desired outcome and the loss of trust that can happen.

Also, as someone who literally worked on a freeway fight, like wow Disney way to consult me!

I also couldn’t place where it was supposed to be. It was on a coast, and Oregon has a Beaverton, but there were fireflies in one scene and fireflies don’t live West of the Rockies??
