Please be nice to essential workers
By the gods, please be nice.Â
As someone who works in a pharmacy your niceness is a charm. We are on the front lines, we are the ones risking sickness to provide you your daily needs. We donât have to be there. Three of my coworkers have decided that they donât wish to work during this pandemic and thus arenât on the schedule until this is over.Â
Donât spit at us, donât swear. By the gods, donât yell at us. We understand that the delivery system is confusing, especially for older people but we are trying to help you! It is not our fault that your doctor didnât send anything over, contact your doctor first! No, I cannot move your name to the top of the queue to get you your medication faster! There are five pages of people who have been waiting just about or longer than you-and itâs not right for you to skip them!Â
Donât laugh on the phone lines at us about how weâre incompetent or call us a bitch. Through gritted teeth we are forced to smile and say nice words to you, but seriously if we can, we will transfer you as soon as you ask a question we cannot answer.Â
Be nice to the essential workers, without us there would be nothing for you.Â
